I postponed ordering a C7 until GM comes up with a factory solution to the NAV problem several folks are having. I do not want to get a new C7 and then have to go back to a dealer to get the NAV fixed right.
Does anyone know if GM has found a solution to the problem that they have instituted on the production line?

That's the problem some folks (not all) are having that I want fixed by GM at the factory.
wishful thinking.
I'm one of those that has that on my 2015. It's not the end of the world. It's a known problem with a known (simple) fix. I'd be more annoyed if it was a known problem WITHOUT a known fix.
If you want the car go buy one. You can also test drive one and if it cuts in and out of GPS then you know it's one that has the issue.

Ain't gonna happen.

I too have been having this issue with my 2015 Z51 C7 Stingray (Vin #00005).
Every now and then the letters GPS will have a red x over them and sometimes my car appears far off from where the road is and the gps will get confused. (happens on occassion). I have read this is an issue that can be resolved but has there been a TSB issued for it. I would like to walk into my local dealer with this paper and have them fix it exactly how it is supposed to be (shielding from the pdr).
I don't doubt that there are many C7 owners who do not have a NAV problem, but the fact remains that some do. This is an issue that can and should be solved on the production line. Taking one into a dealer for their fix is the only option for those who have already taken delivery. I would like to see a production line fix for the problem so it no longer exists. Then I'll order. Happy to motor around in my pristine C6 until then.
So, do you have a recently built C7 with a NAV that does not have a NAV problem? Would love to hear about it.
I have the problem on my 2015. I, also, am interested in a TSB for this so I can tell the dealer about it when I go in. I already took it in once and the dealer said they could not reproduce the issue so they did nothing--then the red X appeared again on my drive home from the dealer. I want to avoid that next time.
my dealer called back and basically said they had a few like this and found the fix to be what was mentioned in the forum. They told me bring it in when you get time and they'll fix it up.

If indeed the problem is that "easy" to fix, then why is it not being done at the factory?

Exactly! The "fix" is most likely a workaround, is not guaranteed to resolve 100 percent of the cars with this issue. I've seen problems like this before (granted not in the automotive industry) and they require changes to components on the circuit boards, PCB redesigns, different cables, connectors, etc. Any significant change will require retesting in a regulatory lab to verify RF emissions compliance; design validation; reliability testing; getting new parts in the pipeline, creating new fixtures in the factory... The list goes on. In the meantime, since the defect isn't life threatening, the factory keeps building the cars like always, and the suits in Detroit decide the problem isn't significant enough to stop production or issue recalls. It's a nasty compromise, choosing between shipping **** which might **** off a few customers who will experience unreliable navigation systems, or shutting down the line and pissing off even more customers who don't want to wait two, three, four or more months for the factory to turn back up and deliver their shiny new C7s.

My guess is that when they decide to fix this issue on the production line, it will only add a few seconds to someone's procedures. I could be wrong, but I'm thinking that whatever the solution is, they (GM suites) will do it soon. When I have a factory solution confirmation, then I'll order a C7. So what do the most recent vins say? Are you still having problems?
Solution: Order the car w/o NAV and enjoy it! I owned 2 C6's with factory NAV and the units in both cars were a P.O.S. From what I have read on this forum the C7 NAV unit is about the same. Unfortunately, I own a C7 equipped w/ factory NAV because I bought from dealer stock and the unit was already there...otherwise I NEVER would have ordered it (and do not intend to use it).
The technology (and user friendliness) in the NAV unit which comes in the vettes is way behind the curve compared to what I've used in wifey's Lexuses, Infinitis, and now MB....
My 2015 Z51 C7 has the Nav problem. There are many C7 owners with this problem and it has been discussed extensively on several Vette forums.
From what I've read so far, the issue has something to do with cabling, possibly XM radio cabling, causing interference to the GPS antenna, and the wiring issue is located in the rear view mirror. I've also read a few C7 owners have had their Nav problem successfully fixed at their dealer.
Don't let them tell you the factory won't fix the problem. I just came back from the NCM and Factory Tour, and while there I mentioned to my tour guide my new C7 has a problem with the Nav. They immediately offered to bring my C7 into the factory and fix the problem. Unfortunately I wasn't driving it because I was waiting on XPEL install, but I do plan to get my Nav issue fixed at my dealer as soon as I'm convinced they know how to correct the problem. The factory IS aware of the Nav problem, but I don't think the repair procedure has trickled down to all dealers yet.
Even if a change is implemented at the plant, I doubt that the change will be announced in such a way that we'll know about it. If you're waiting until such an announcement before ordering, I think you'll be in for a very long wait.

There is little doubt that the factory can fix this problem. Just waiting on them. I'm patient.
