Default Has anyone ever applied Liquid Glass Shield to their car?

I have a buddy of mine who owns a bodyshop here and swears by this stuff. Says no one has been crazy enough to do it yet, but with 25 coats it would eradicate the concept of paint getting chipped... Sounds insane...

Thoughts/Ideas?

its good stuff but I don't believe the 25 coat protection stuff....

some have had problems removing it:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...to-polish.html

and once again, none of these last step products matter if you have not polished the car = POLISH IS THE REAL SECRET...

an orbital and Meguire's 205 is the secret before you buy any of these whiz bang sealants....

I doubt it; 25 coats would have to be very thick coats to prevent chipping. LGlass is a good product that's been around for well over 20 years. To say that there are most likely products that are better for today's cars would also be reasonable in my opinion.

Thanks guys,

Well my friend is offering to do it all for me at his shop- super professional German dude so I know she's in good hands...

And I get it at cost price so that's a bonus-

I think the link is for a different product Glen- not sure- but here's the one my buddy is referring to: http://www.liquidglassshield.com/

I used Liquid Glass on my 79 I had in the early 90s and really like the product. It said on the can that the more coats you apply the more you build up a protective shield. Not saying that is true but that is what the can said if I remember correctly.

I have heard good and bad about this product. But I agree with POLISH is the answer.

25 years of use here on many cars!
I swear by the stuff! I just put a new stinger stripe on the hood.
And 20 coats will bury the stripe to look like it's painted with no edge
to catch a finger nail on.

It builds a clear under glass look a real thickness. But slowly it's thin stuff each coat. Don't worry about ever taking it off. It doesn't yellow.

Need to polish perfect first then it can't be beat!
Superior gloss and protection. I add a coat every other wash or so!

Your paint is much tougher with 25 coats for sure. Stop a rock chip?
Depends how big a rock. They have a different coating
newer product out that they say it does with 25 coats.

I happy with the regular product so I haven't tried the new product yet

Def a different product than the one I was speaking about (and probably others on here). Here's the Liquid Glass (center/middle product can, white and gold squarish can with red top). And it's been around decades. I guess the name "liquid glass" isn't trademarked.
