C7’s throaty engine could be barred in South Korea
It sounds like some of those ears over in South Korea might be a little too gentle for our beloved C7. According to reports, the new Corvette could actually be barred from the country because the car’s 455-horsepower LT1 V8 is just too damn throaty for South Korea’s engine noise regulations.

Well... I wouldn't exactly call an LT1 (or LS series for that matter) exactly "throaty".....

I think its more about perspective. Most cars in Asia are pretty quiet with the exhaust so even a C7 with NPP set to touring may sound very loud to the average S. Koreans. This is Korea we are talking about not the US of A where people ride "obnoxiously" loud Harleys.

Makes me wonder is the standard exhaust as loud as NPP in Sport or Track mode or more subdued? I like the ride of the Touring mode but the sound of the Sport Mode. I haven't really looked into it but can you match the ride of the Touring mode and the valve setting of the Sport mode to the same setting?
