Default Handgun in "hidden" storage spot?

What fits behind the infotainment screen?
I've tried everything in my gun cabinet and can't find a good option...
Best fit was a snub .38 (5 shot) but it hung the door up occasionally.

Save me going to the gun shop and asking them to come with me while I try out all the options... Help me narrow it down.

I don't want to start a "what caliber is best" thread.
Right now I can't get to any weapon (relatively) quickly when driving so, anything is better.

Thanks in advance!!

You are better off keeping the gun on your person while driving.
If someone tries to carjack you getting the gun out of any place in the car is not a good option. Getting out with it on you and your options are much better.

Ruger LCP or LC9 will work nicely. My old 38 snubby fits perfectly w/ no hangups...

A 'cross-draw' holster should be accessible to you at all times while driving. If you always carry it like that, you won't have to waste that half a second remembering where you put the gun!

I promise, If I get out of the car I'll have access to my primary weapon...
Small of back or front pocket carry 100% of the time.
Neither of which I can get to while in the car.

I don't wear a suit so cross draw shoulder holster (while very cool) is impractical for me.

I keep this little auto 22 I picked up at a gun show. The main thing is to have some kind of gun there to impress chicks when they hit the screen button.

Just tested Beretta Nano with regular Clip will fit perfect. With Extended it will not. Other small HGs like the Ruger SP101 will not without seriously maneuvering it and hoping it will stick in there without falling down. Won't even try my other pieces

You'd have to try it. I know a 27 is at least an inch shorter than my 19 which won't fit. My little S&W .38 fits with room to spare.

I just keep mine in the center armrest area. Too much stuff gets caught up when the screen lowers.

Agreed. It's really quite stupid to not have it on your person at all times.

The only real trick is finding a carry method where the gun doesn't wear on the seat back (as in the case of my paddle holster)
