The Z06 has a heartbeat!
Production Of The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Has Begun
Spy shots have recently shown us quite a bit of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 in the past weeks, but all of them were pre-production, hand-made models based on regular Stingrays. According to StingrayForums.com, the first production Z06 Corvette just rolled off of the assembly line in Bowling Green, Kentucky on November 13 at 9:26 in the morning. This very first Z06 was sold to Rick Hendrick, owner of a NASCAR team.

According to General Motors, they will be able to produce around 7 cars an hour. There is no telling when customers will be able to get their hands on one, but we can’t wait to see what this American supercar can do against its exotic rivals.

I saw two Z06s A8/verts being built (one at the marriage portion and one was about to be tested on the dyno). This was on October 29th when I went to pick up my C7 for delivery.

I think that it will be a super street fighter at any level. But there will be a few niche cars that aren't $150k that will compete.
At 6.2L, the V8 in the C63 coupe is a tough AMG engine sharing parts with the SLS supercar.
