C7 Z06 is not a "Stingray"
I've seen people call this thing a 2015 Corvette Stingray Z06 but I'm pretty sure it has no Stingray badges nor is it ever labeled by GM as a Stingray.

Stingray shape? Do you mean the Corvette flags?
Per Chevrolet website, there are two models of the c7 Corvette to choose from:

WHAT??!!! You mean the Z51 isn't a separate model, but an option package? You're gonna **** off a lot of Z51 owners with that accusation.

Actually if you want to search dealer sites or even cars.com for a 2015 "stingray" you better input corvette.
The 2014 stingray was the correct keyword for search for that year car only for some odd reason
Z06 is just Corvette.

Doesn't matter to me what they call it - it is a beast.

The cars are barely labeled as Chevrolet anymore, but they are all Corvettes, share nearly the exact same interior, frame, many body panels, technology, crappy GPS and so on.
Just be glad that GM decided to go with Stingray and Z06 and not like Porsche with every flavor of 911 having a designation: 911 Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera GTS, Carrera Cabriolet, Carrera Cabriolet S, Carrera GTS Cabriolet, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Carrera 4S GTS, Targa, Targa 4, Targa 4S, Turbo, Turbo S, and so on and on. They must have an entire army dedicated to the procurement of decals.

Getting back to the original question, although the 2015 Z06 is a C7 Corvette, it is not a Stingray. Within the 7th generation cars, that moniker is correctly used only for LT1-equipped Corvettes. LT4-equipped 2015 Corvettes are correctly labeled Z06 which is a distinct model, not an option package.

I think GM is slowly trying to make Corvette a sub-brand of Chevrolet. The only bowties I know of on this car are the tiny ones in the crossed flags. The crossed flags logo, however, is everywhere. Even in the headlights and window tint.
Instead of thinking "Chevrolet" and then "Corvette" the fine marketing folks want us to think "Corvette" and then "Stingray" or "Z06" or "ZR1."
If rumors are to be believed, a Zora is on the way that will have nothing in common with the Stingray or Z06. At the same time, GM can't make the entire lineup mid-engined not only because of the expense, but that will upset the Corvette faithful that provide sales volume. Look how fuss much changing the tail lights caused.
It will also be easier to sell this car all over the world with a bigger price tag if it is a Corvette and not a "boring old Chevy." The R8 would not sell at that price if it were a Volkwagen. Keep in mind, the people who are on this forum are some of the most knowledgeable people on the earth about this car. I bet is is not hard to already find people that have no idea the new Stingray or Z06 is a Chevy.
