Honest thoughts on C/F stinger vs. Full Length Dual Racing Stripe
Getting ready to order a 2015 Z51 - 2LT coupe. BLADE SILVER, black 19/20 wheels, red calipers, red interior. With the C/F mirrors/spoiler/badges. Pretty much sold on the stinger hood, but saw several pics with the C/F Full Length Dual Racing Stripe. Just wondering if the full length stripes is top over the top, too much, or too busy? In some pics they looked good with this color. It's not like they will be red or orange, just wondering which would look better on the exact color and optioned car? Also, if the transparent roof is selected - can the full length stripes still be selected on the transparent roof?
Thanks for your input.

Full length stripes are on the transparent roof. They can be removed. I have a Torch Red with the full length stripes and I love the look. If I were to do it again, I would not get them from the factory, but would have them painted on later. The stripes, applied by a contract company after GM production, are vinyl decals.

I have seen the full length stripes over the transparent top and was not a fan. Did not look good from either the interior or exterior. My opinion is to go with a stinger hood and a transparent top, or full length stripes with a colored top.

12/8 TPW, Blade Silver, Adrenaline Red, 3LT, zF1 Apperance Package, Chrome Wheels, Performance Exhaust, carbon Fiber Dash, red calipers, chrome interior trim badge.
I did go with the carbon flash hood stinger stripe at the factory. Elected not to go w carbon flash mirrors and spoilers. Thought that sometimes less is more. IMO, the eye is drawn to the mirrors/spoiler sacrificing the other lines on the car. Just too much going on for me.
Went w 3lt because I like the look of the red coming up over the dash on drivers side. Also, am an electronics junkie and like the other gadgets.
BTW, my car will be a convertible.

I thought the transparent top was a good choice because I like the openness feeling, considering it's a tight interior.

I also went Stinger stripe and struggled with the choice till I got it. Had full length stripe been available in white, I probably would have gone with it on my Laguna Blue. I didnt even consider for a moment the clear top having a stripe laying over it. ACK!
Totally happy with my choice. Offers great contrast and goes great with the mirror/spoiler combo

I have TR with the transparent lid as well as the full stripes. On the exterior it is not easy to see the stripes on the lid. Inside looking out they are very visible and I have grown to really like that I can still see out of my top very easily yet have some sun block from the stripes... My two cents.

I like the hood stinger more than the full stripe package. However, I'm considering having the carbon flash hood stinger painted on and then cleared to avoid the vinyl decal line. Might even save some money considering GM charges $500 for the stinger hood vinyl option.

My vote is for the stinger hood as on the original Stingray in '67 with carbon flash badges only. I think the carbon flash mirrors and spoiler is too much, sticks out like a sore thumb as my dealer said to me, and does distract from the rest of the car. Only my opinion; you are picking up the tab. Make yourself happy.

understood, paint is the ultimate option and will be 350-500 , hood has to come off....
but take consolation that the stinger decal line is not apparent with vinyl because I said above, it sits "in the hood" due to the sheet metal creases....believe me, I think these things out before a mod is done to my car and this one can be vinyl if you are not radically OCD..
My problem is vinyl does not gloss like paint....and I'm not interested in 20 coats of anything like some have done here of a sealant...

To me it's a very hard choice. I love the stinger stripe and was not a fan on the dual stripes. Then I saw them in person on a velocity yellow with black stripes and wow. Now I am torn between both. If you haven't then try to see them both in person. Maybe not, you might get more confused like me. Lol
Either way good luck

The dual stripes just do not go with the lines of the car in my opinion. They contrast the angles and curves too much. The stinger works a lot better overall. I put one on my 2014 after I got the car (didn't see one before so I didn't order it) and I like it so much I'm seriously considering getting a custom painted one done in the future.

I believe that the stinger stripe is much classier than the full stripes, not so"over the top". Yes the pun is intended. I am having mine painted on by a shop here in Austin, less than the factory stripe by a couple of hundred.
