Would if been more cost effective to purchase a base z06? That looks like 20k of body work

650 HP and the front fender spats (gross) would be a free bonus.
Not ripping on the ton of good work but, today it's all about the numbers.

I'll never understand why someone would want to make something into something that it isn't.

Sorry but did I miss the part where he would be putting Z06 badges on it or taking it to shows to display his other products while calling it a Z06 and just general poser behavior?

You Sir are the type of person I will never understand. The wider body looks incredible and to date there hasn't been a single company that has put out a wide body kit that looks half as good as OEM, not to mention the ease of fitment without spending time and money fixing an ill fitting kit.

Using OEM for something like this just makes sense and it will look incredible no doubt.

Be prepared to see more wide body conversions (notice I said wide body conversion rather than Z06 conversion, because there's a difference), as they are bound to happen.

Happy New Year by the way.

However, as I said in my earlier post, am still very curious as to the cost of the project. I think the car is going to look badass when complete. However, I am really curious of the cost. I've seriously been considering doing something very similar. If the cost is in the $10,000 range, complete with new wheels and tires to fit the new width, then I could make sense of that and justify the cost. Figuring that would leave money left over if I wanted to add a supercharger to bring my power up to a similar level of the Z06 and still save a few bucks over the cost of a new Z06 that will have a few more goodies still.

However, if the cost of this project is in the $20,000 range, then for me personally, I would have a tough time justifying that expense. At that point, I'd likely have to then consider just starting with a Z06 at $19,000 more than the base price of a Stingray with Z51 package.

Again, it's a genuine question I'm hoping Ben won't mind answering. As I said though, cost aside, this is going to be one badass C7. And if I have any clue based on Ben's other projects, I'm sure this car will have all the go fast goodies too!

I am quite curious how much this little venture will cost. If it's above $10 like you said, perhaps it will keep people from going this route right away but as prices come down for 30k mile or higher/older C7's perhaps then it could be a viable option. Until then wide body conversions will be strictly for high rollers.

To the question as to why... simply because I wanted to, be your answer. My cars never stay stock and changing them isn't just my business, it's also my fun. This car had the motor out of it with 1500 miles on the clock and bored the block and sleeved it to a 427. Does that make a C6 Z06 wanna be as well? LOL If I wanted a Z06 I wouldn't have moved that deposit to the rumored ZR1/Zora. If I wanted to produce the weaponX wide body kit I already designed, I would've done so, but I am very happy with these fenders and for the cost, they're a bargain. Did GM desecrate the C6Z06 and create a bunch of posers with C6 Grand Sports using the same fenders? LOL Come on... get off your soapbox. Very few approve of poser cars and this sure as hell isn't a Z06 wanna be, it's a custom car.

As for my car being all apart, that's overkill for most. I'm changing the color completely so the swap looks worse than it is. I can do the rear end less the wing for $3799 shipped (painting 5 parts), wing is extra depending upon style. The whole thing can be had for $5199 shipped (painting 7 parts) + wing.

I'm not going to sit here and debate this vs. the Z06. The Z06 is a hell of a car for the money, but a Z06 will not hang with this 800whp car already. This was never meant to be a "vs." argument. It all just depends upon what you want but for those of you to jump out of an equivalently equipped C7 into a C7Z06, you're talking about a $30k difference for current owners facing depreciation as well as their mods invested. If you want a Z06, do it; I'm sure you'll love it! If you want to customize your C7, you have options. Which way you choose is up to you!

Hi Ben, Thank you for the response. I hope you know that my personal questions were with genuine interest. I know there were some uncalled for "copy a Z06" comments. As I expected in my prior comments, knew you would have something under the hood to go with the bad *** look you're creating.

Anyway, if I read your message correctly, I think you indicated that the whole body kit can be done for $5,199? If that's the case, that's a steal. Where do I sign up? Feel free to PM me as I am absolutely interested.

Thanks again.

Of course, I didn't take your questions as anything else man.

As for the power on this, here it is vs Z51 on motor

and the 818hp number is the nitrous.

Default Color choices

Had a lot of fun here. I love a blue pearl with some purple flop. The deep wine red would look good. Always wanted an orange car and the bottom center and lower right with some yellow burst would both look good.
