anybody remember the thread where some vendor was selling aluminum or such replacement paddles for the C7? this would be the time to make that change too but I cannot remember the dealer.

Got my wheel from Gene today.

I would say it is thicker in spots than the standard wheel but I have to go outside and look.

If your comparison is a BMW M wheel, it is not an M wheel in thickness.

I'll go compare the two when I head out for dinner.

The Z06 logo does not appear to be below the surface but it also does not appear to be on top of it.

If that single part was replaceable I'd be tempted to try to scrape it off.

Hopefully the leather holds up a bit better. Mine with only 12K is already shiny and smoothing out.

I haven't searched, but given this is a thread selling steering wheels i'll ask here - how difficult is it to change the wheel? 399 seems like a reasonable bang for the buck mod...

Getting the nut off the wheel from what I heard is near impossible without a good impact gun.

Once thats done its pretty simple. I have not done it yet but if it follows every other wheel I've done there is a hole or two at the bottom of the wheel, stick in a thin screw driver and that releases the air bag.

First disconnect the battery, then disconnect the airbag, get the big nut off, then disconnect the fire wires and swap the wheels, put the nut back on, connect the electronics and put the air bag back on.

There is probably a clock spring and may be a clock spring tool to hold it in place.

Others have said dealers charged them around $100 to do the swap.

Thanks for the info, I was hoping it was little closer to M thickness. I am really curious about doing this mod w/ the suede Z06 wheel.

Hopefully someone brave will attempt to remove the Z06 from the wheel. If that's possible, I'm in!

I do not believe removing the Z06 is possible without ruining the finish. I would think that piece would need to be removed and painted or finished however you would like.

I need to know what stitching color if leather and finish please. I have a blue stitched automatic in stock as well as 3 automatic Alcantara. Alcantara comes with the black stitching.

Included are photos of the red and blue stitched. I got some automatic red stitched in and they are gone.

We cannot as they come from the factory this way. I do have an idea of getting an aftermarket vendor to make a piece to cover this. I will work on it.

Will this wheel fit and work with a 2013 Z06 2LZ ?
I bought above car and it came with a race wheel, stock steering wheel long gone.

I had read somewhere that the 2013 steering column may be same as C7...?

I think a Cultrag logo (the fireball) on the wheel would be pretty cool touch to the Z06 wheels . maybe even color coded

Once a good solution is available for the logo, I will place an order. Do you have the matching Alcantara shift boot and **** available?
