I like your idea. We refer to it as "The Fireball" as well. I'm sure we could arrange it if people were interested.

We do have a vendor working on a solution to the Z06 logo situation and we will be offering you the ability to customize that section of the wheel as well as the silver trim on the steering wheel.

Can the Z06 logo piece be removed when wheel is installed in car with airbag? Thanks.

I'm interested as soon as the Z06 is gone. Was never a big fan of putting emblems anywhere that don't belong or mislead.

I actually just like the bottom being flat. The wifes 15 Optima has a "D" wheel and I like it compared to the traditional wheel.

I do not believe the Z06 piece can be removed with the wheel installed in the vehicle. RPI Designs is assisting us in a solution for this piece.

Can you show pics of the other colors? Or at least have them on the RPI site?

We don't offer the cover. We teamed up with RPI to bring you a solution. They normally don't provide a photo of each and every color of their items. I do not believe it is necessary.

Yes. You do not have to remove the airbag or wheel. You do have to unlock the airbag and side it out slightly - but you don't have to pull it all the way out, disconnect or remove it. Just pull it out enough to lift the silver trim and then remove the emblem.

I just ordered the suede Z06 wheel along with a suede shift **** from Gene yesterday. I was sending him emails with some questions and he responded immediately. I then realized it was Saturday and Valentines day! What great customer service!

I also picked up the piece from RPI that replaces the Z06 emblem in Carbon Flash as well as the Carbon Flash trim piece on the wheel.

I can't wait until everything arrives!!

Gene/Patrick,
Any idea when you'll be getting more of the Black ones with gray stitching in the auto version in stock ?

BTW why do they cost $50 more than black ones with other colored stitching ?

Thanks

They have just become available so if you're interested let me know. The $50 extra is because that is the higher base price that GM charges for this item. We do not know why they charge $50 extra.

Yes it can, lift the bottom of the aluminum bezel enough to pop the CF trim.

I sent Gene an email last Saturday (Valentine's day) and he responded immediately. I told him I wanted the D shaped wheel in suede and the matching suede shift **** and he put it together and invoiced me within minutes. I expected at least a 2 week wait knowing that GM can all of a sudden go "out of stock". To my surprise, my wheel and shift **** showed up today. Less than a week after ordering. All I can say is Gene is the MAN!

Too bad I'm headed out of town for a week

Personally i do not like the painted look. The whole point of the d-bottom steering wheel other than the shape is the exposed carbon fiber element.

I think an easy fix would be a stripe of vinyl with the Z51 logo on it going straight across the bottom of the steering wheel so that carbon fiber is still shown.
