Default Grumpy old farts - disregard this post and save a click

Just got home from work and my wife noticed a crack on the passenger rear quarter panel toward the bottom. At first I thought someone jammed their car door into my car when it was parked, but then I noticed it is on both side as well as on side skirt in the center. I am going to take it to the dealer tomorrow.

Don't worry, that's a plastic film put on by the factory to protect against chips.

Run your fingers across both of them and you'll see that they are raised. Keep them nice and clean with a good car soap or they will yellow.

Holy crap I nearly died. I just went out to the garage with a wet micro fiber towel and wiped it clean and the "crack" is gone. I will be 43 this month and I was almost ready to cry.

Thanks for stopping me from having a nervous breakdown.

No it was not a joke. I feel dumb now, but if you knew my history with cars you would understand. I haven't had the best luck with cars I actually care about. My last car was rear ended twice. The second time it happened 2 weeks after I got it back from the bodyshop.

Is that the optional film protectant or is that applied to every C7 for transport?

It is applied to all C7s. It stays and is not for transport.
