Default 2015 Navigation update for 2014 C7?

I did a quick look and didn't find any threads on this topic.

It appears the 2015 update for the navigation system in the 2014 C7 Stingray is now available. It says it's a USB stick for $160 ().

http://gmnavdisc.navigation.com/prod...en_US/GMNA/USD

In the past the updates website used to tell you if there were feature updates too beyond just the mapping data. It seems the new website doesn't provide any of that information. Has anyone gotten this and noticed a change in Navigation interface/features?

They thought of that already.

Please note this USB will be created specifically for your vehicle and can not be used for any other vehicle. In order to customize your USB product, you will be required to provide your vehicle's VIN. For instructions on where to locate your vehicle's VIN, please click here.

I bought my new 2014 Vette 3 weeks ago & it had a July build date. I thought I deserved a free update but was told no. No one gets it without paying for it. I'm going to contact my selling dealer & see how they feel.

Yeah that's pretty $#itty if you ask me....First you buy a $60k+ vehicle, then pay extra for the nav feature....They should include FREE upgrades to THEIR OWN UNIT!!! I have a 2012 Ford Edge and I get the upgraded maps on a scan disk through the mail! And so far I've had two upgrades on the "Sync" software at the dealer, both times for free. Way to stand behind your product Chevrolet! If I wanted this car for an everyday driver or for comfort, this alone would have kept me from buying it! Good thing all I really cared about was the performance and beauty!!

StingerBG, I also have an Edge & get the updates via website download for free.

I got a little help from my dealer. It seems the update is handled by a third party that isn't swayed by a dealer request, just dollar signs.
My salesman says he will work on it and if nothing works out he would buy it for me. I told him if he gets it for free that I want it but it wasn't important enough to buy it. We'll see what happens.

I can't imagine why this could not be hacked to use with other vin #s.

Used to see DVD burned copies of navigation discs all the time. I doubt a little USB stick will stop the pirate community!

Someone will create the proper hash required to use this. BMW community did this a few years ago.

As stated above, the software and data on the USB stick is coded to the VIN of the purchasers vehicle. You can clone it if you want but it won't work.

Can we maybe get back on topic of finding out what new features this has (and I don't mean new maps/POIs) instead of trying to steal it?

I would interested in getting one of those sticks. If all they do is perform a vendor check then there is probably a way to just update the stick.

If you go into settings on the radio screen and then go to the very bottom the last option takes you to an about page. The issue is I don't know if that version # corresponds to the software driving the maps or the map content itself. I looked in the Navigation system itself but couldn't find any data there.
  • Software - 23266025
  • Gracenote - 23443783
  • Map - 23480133

I just had my car's firmware updated yesterday, what versions do others have?
