Default Mobil 1 Use ONLY

To: Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC Dealers

The 2014-2015 Chevrolet Complete Care Program for Corvettes was designed to take into account the preferred Mobil 1 oil choice of many Corvette owners. As a reminder, dealers are required to use Mobil 1 when performing oil changes on ALL 2014-2015 Corvettes through the Chevrolet Complete Care Program. Current reimbursement levels for Corvette are based on Mobil 1 usage. Please remind all personnel that only Mobil 1 should be used. In addition, please refer to GlobalConnect message # G_0000205212 for details on dry sump equipped (Z51, Z52, and Z06) Corvettes.

In the event a customer paid an upcharge for Mobil 1 under the Chevrolet Complete Care Program, customers should be directed to contact Chevrolet Customer Service representatives, socialmedia@gm.com, for assistance on reimbursement.

Finally. Absolute confirmation of what dealers are supposed to be doing. Way to go for posting this, Ken!

Thanks Z!

As always, my pleasure to bring the latest and most accurate news.

That's why I stayed here as the GM of the new dealership after I sold it!

My dealer refused to do Mobil 1 and stated that was not the specifications for it.

Do you have the Bulletin in PDF format so I can have it at the ready?
OR is there a Bulletin # I can refer the dealer to look up?

Feel free to print this and take it to your dealer...and if you paid extra make sure to call the number posted for a refund!

PS...please keep us in mind if you need parts, accessories, or a protection instead of buying it from a "poser" working for a used car dealership!

I just called my local dealer and again inquired. They claim when pulling up my VIN no bulletins tell them to change to Mobil 1 and that message number is not attributes to my car. Idk what all that means but what do I do from here?

I assume that this bulletin is quite new and all dealer service personnel are probably not aware of it yet. Print out the first post and take it to the dealer. If they still won't do Mobil 1, find a different (competent) dealer.

Apparently GM has just re-thought their policy on these high performance engines they warranty for 100,000 miles

Honestly, it probably has more to do with Mobil 1's sponsorship/affiliation with the Corvette brand.

Could be, but an expensive change for them that wasn't in the original free maintenance budget.

Tell your dealer to look in GM Global Connect: Ref. number: Service / Service Operations / G_0000208346

The notification is there under the number above. Published today, 1/13/15.

If you have any issues with your dealer, contact Chevy Customer Care, socialmedia@gm.com.
