Just curious and don't want to read back 10 pages but where is arbitration in all this mess? Maybe it's not used everywhere but in Alabama the dealers will not sell you a car unless you sign an arbitration agreement. For those not familiar with it, it's an agreement by both parties to accept the decision of an independent panel of people paid by the motor company. Go figure.

OP: Is your case against GM as a corporation or the dealership? I know when I have had issues in the past with a BMW dealership, BMWNA doesn't get involved unless it is a manufacturing defect. I do wish you all the best as this has been a nightmare just reading about it. Hang in there.

When I lived up in PA I took my vettes to a dealer with the best tech in the Delaware Valley. But after moving down here I don't know who works on my car and if they know what the heck they're doing. But, I know the dealership is responsible and I'd make sure people knew about them.

Well RK Chevy in Vineland NJ is horrendous but Mall Chevy in Cherry Hill has been terrific in try to help me correct all of the problems....GM has been no help at all and if it was not my love for this car and corvette as a whole I would positively say I would never own another GM product again, this situation has put a real hitch in my plan to get a new CTS-V when it comes out.

Oh come on... so somebody making $100k/yr can't afford a C7? Don't you think most people in that situation would miss 10% of their income?

I agree. $10k would be painful no matter how much I made or had.

Like it or not everyone driving any car has taken a hit called..... depreciation. You don't realize it until you sell/trade it.

You call it depreciation....I call it the price of fun. To each his own. The only problem here is that the poor guy isn't getting any fun out of the deal

My son worked summer vacations at a mega brand dealership in the Detroit burbs 10+ yrs ago as a porter to get long hours, better than flipping pizzas.

His stories about porters playing chicken with customer cars in the back lots.. ripping out seats looking for change, if you can imagine it on the screen it happened. So a "tech" running the dog snot out of a new vette? Those are bragging rights at the bar Friday evening.

Perhaps there was a reason GM enacted extra requirements for authorized Corvette dealers?

Rule #1 Don't expect for anyone to care for your things the way you do.

This goes for anything you own, especially your cars.

Rule #2 Never trust the care of your car to anyone else if it can at all be helped.

I'd rather eat the cost of an oil change than leave it in their hands.

If it isn't under warranty, I wouldn't have it in the dealership.

Amen. I spend 101.75 to do my own oil changes. It's a small price to pay for knowing it is done right. My local dealer is VERY good and they have a great Corvette technician and I believe he is the only one who works on Corvettes, even for oil changes, but unless I have a non pt warranty issue, my car does not go to the dealer. I don't bother with pt issues since my car is highly modified and I have no pt warranty.

Unfortunately it's not all GM's fault. Some of it is, yes. But there's a law out there that won't allow car manufacturers to sell directly to the public. So the only way they can controll dealerships is through allocations, etc.

Tesla has been fighting this law and has won, I think, in one or two states, but beyond that....

IMHO. It's time to get a lawyer involved.

A little OT but I just decided to do a synthetic/WIX filter oil change on the DD. Wound up on my side with foot on a 15mm long box wrench to break the drain plug loose that the %$#! local Buick dealer $8 hr man must have used a breaker bar on. And if the threads had come out with it then I'd been screwed.

Took my Corvette to a Firestone dealer for new NITTO 555 non run flats and when I got it home I checked the torque for the wheels. Most had over 150lbs except the wheel locks which had less then 100 lbs. I needed a breaker bar to loosen them. I now have a slight pulsing when breaking that I attribute to warpage due to the uneven torque. You just can't trust these guys.

A lot of dealerships are scum. Its crazy what some of these places get away with. Especially after working at a dealer for a year, it has forever changed my perception of them for the worst.
