Default What the generic Mobil-1 sticker looks like...

Think I will paint the "Dexos" off the oil cap since M-1 is Dexos approved anyway.

You can also buy GM part number 10236268. This is a metal "sticker". Runs $20 to $25.

Cool! Now all we need is a sticker/plate that shows the

quantity of oil required.

Have them put in 9 and then you add a bit to make it perfect at home.

FYI, the oil fill cap from C6 is the same and is interchangeable with the C7. You can order an OEM cap that has the Mobil 1 label printed right on it. Less than $20.

That came stock on my C4 right on the base, inside the hood.

I called the Mobile 1 folks today and asked for the engine compartment stickers. He started laughing and asked if I owned a Corvette C7 and was I a member of this august group (Corvette Forum). I said yes to both and he said they were getting slammed with requests, were out but were expecting more in a couple of days.

No link.

Long story short, I replaced my LS2 with an LS3, which came with a Dexos label, and I got tired of switching it with my '09 Z06 cap when bringing either in for an oil change. I ordered a new '09 cap (straight from the the dealer), but never put it on the car. I put it on the '14 two days after I bought it.

They're identical caps (LS2, LS3, LS7, and LT1). Only the label and the part # are different. Which makes sense; it works just fine (why design a new one?), no one has ever had a problem with it, AFAIK.

My 2013 C6 cap does not say Mobil and looks just like the one shown by the OP.

I think the change from requiring Mobil 1 to "Dexos" (and subsequent labeling) was in 2011. You could order a cap from an earlier year (which is what I did). They are all the same, mechanically.

eta: another thread has me wondering about the LS2, however. I never switched that cap with any other, so I can't state whether it would be compatible.

$19.99 shipped is the cheapest I've found for the C4 label mentioned above.

If you are going to spend $25 for a label, why not spend $16-$18 for a replacement cap,
which actually has the "Mobil1" logo on it ?
