C7 grill swap for Z06 grill
I really like the look of the 2015 Z06 grill better than the standard 2015 stingray grill. Not wild about the chrome bar across it. For that reason I want to change it to a Z06 grill. I see them selling on Ebay anywhere from $200 up to $400. Some advertise that the grill fits a 2014 or 2015. I was wondering if anyone has changed their grill to the Z06 style, and if is was easily doable, and interchangeable. Any information will be appreciated. I have a 2015 Z51/3LT arriving soon.

Burning Brakes
With passable mechanical skills it is fairly easy and there are great
how to's with pictures and narration here on the forum.

you're obviously a new-b on here
A ton of us have done it already, and there is a GREAT video of what bolts to take off and what to do on here somewhere. not hard, about 2-3 hours total and i suggest adding the brake ducts (if you don't have a Z51) while you have the bumper off. its only a $75 increase...
I see at the end you have a Z51, so even easier and less time...
PS if you decide to do it yourself, the hardest part is the retaining clips near the headlight near where the hood bumper and quarter panel meets. Its a pain but if you pull straight up it'll go. (You'll know what i mean when it comes time)

Yes, it fits 2014 and 2015. The Z06 and Z51 brake ducts are the same so if you have the Z51 you don't need them. We sell the grille and the brake duct kit. The link to the grille is below.

A bunch of us have completed this mod. The Z06 grille looks way better. Here is a thread which includes a tutorial video that walks you through the process. Read the thread in its entirety for tips and tricks. Good luck!!

Attachment 47861409Really is an easy mod. The only hard part is getting the bumper retainer pins loose by the head lights. Take your time doing this and they will come loose. If you don't have the Z51 you really should put in the air ducts to prevent seeing through the grill's vent. I've done two of these, mine and a friends and ordered all from Gene at Cultrag. The Laguna Blue is mine and the Limerock Green is my friends (non-Z51). I took a picture of the grill installed without the ducts also.

Decided to go for the Grill
I decided after reviewing the market on prices for the Z06 grill, to go with Gene Culley's. Really glad I did. Received it in two days. Super service, would recommend to anyone to purchase there. I'm looking to purchase the clear Z06 tail lights next. Not for the purpose of impersonating a Z06, but rather because I like the look a whole lot better than the red ones. It would have been nice if GM offered these swaps as an option when I ordered the car.

We also ordered the Z06 grille from Gene at CULTRAG Performance. Placed the order on 1/2 and it arrived today via FedEx so the turnaround was only 8 days which IMO is very good. So far, service from Corvette Forum member vendors we've dealt with has been excellent.
We're enjoying the process of ordering and receiving modification parts while waiting for our new C7 Stingray to be delivered. It helps pass the otherwise agonizing time and it's sort of like taking delivery of the car in pieces!

Thank you all for the referrals, the positive feedback and the opportunity to earn your business.
Just to let you know the standard aero panel does not fit the Z06 grille. You'll either need a Z06 license plate bracket or a Z06 aero panel and either will need the new retainers. I've taken some photos of the Z06 aero plate, Z06 bracket and Z06 retainers. If anyone is interested in any of these items contact us!

Z06 tail lamps are next on the list of mods for my SGM Stingray! They look great with that body color!

One disadvantage to the Z06 grille is that the openings are much larger and more likely to let bugs and trash through to the radiator with no good way to clean it... If you have noticed, the bottom is sealed to the radiator inlet shroud.
Aren't clear tail lights the ricer preference?
