Default [UPDATE] Sadly not a good one...remember my co-workers son with Leukemia

Most of you will remember this story from back in 2010 when he was first diagnosed. So many of you responded to my request to send emails to Christopher and the family was blown away by the kindness of Corvette Forum.
Since then on occasion I have posted a few updates about how Christopher was doing better and if you recall I auctioned off blankets that he and his friends made to give to other patients in the hospital.

Anyway things were going well for Christopher and he was getting his life back to normal after 4 years cancer free in fact he just got a new job.

Well this week they found out the Leukemia is back and unfortunately it's harder to treat the second time so they are looking at options including bone marrow replacement etc.

Here's where you come in

Last time I ask for emails but this time I think we should do cards lots of cards

So as not to overwhelm the family mail box I ask that you send them to my PO Box...feel free to have anyone you know send him a card with some encouragement to hang in there

looks like his birthday is coming up on the 18th

Please send them to:

Christopher

not sure if 20 or 21...I think he had just turned 17 when this happened but not 100% sure so generic B-day card would be best if you go that route
Thanks!

So sorry to hear this - but don't despair yet. I've worked with pediatric oncology patients for over 20 years so I have knowledge in this area. While it's never good to relapse, relapsing relatively "later" (like the 4 years for this individual) is MUCH better than relapsing immediately or shortly after finishing chemotherapy. A bone marrow transplant may be in the patient's future - but there are MANY new therapies available with very unique mechanisms of action that give real hope to a long term survival for this young man. He's certainly in for the fight of this life but his odds are far from dismal. Thanks for sharing and know that many are thinking positive thoughts. Trust science here - there is much hope.

From the sounds of things it looks like he has the AML
I was diagnosed with CML in 2002, luckily for me they have a pill for CML (Gleevec) and it put CML back in its box.

Prayers and Hope go out to him

Many years ago we lost a family member to this. I know how tough this can be. Best wishes to Christopher. Our prayers will include him.
