Is there a consensus on the 2014 models reliability yet?
Hey guys... 2005 C6 owner here toying with the idea of trading her in for a C7. I learned the hard way that the great deal I got on my 2005 (first run Vette) came with some issues. I've got them ironed out now, but it was a painful road
What's the consensus on the 2014s? Common issues so far? Do you think we have enough miles and evidence to know if these will be reliable in the long run, or as with most first run models it's best to avoid and get a 2015+? Do we know what components were changed/upgraded in the 2015s?

The main changes in 2015 were:
1. A8
2. PDR
Mine is a 2014 M7 with no issues. I haven't really read about major problems.
I traded my C6 in November and I don't regret it for a second!!

Very little difference in the 14 & 15, Chevy learned their lesson with the C6 and did it right this time around. A few colors and options changes, they bundled PDR with navigation, and they went from a 6 to 8-speed auto. Rev-match may be a little quicker on the 15's. 12k miles and 2 cross-country roadtrips later I have no regrets with my 2014 and am glad I bought it!

What a piece of crap I have! It starts when I push the button. Runs as requested until I push the button and turn it off. Been doing that since I bought it. I guess you can mark the "Reliable so far" column up by one for me.

I've had my '14 almost a year, with nearly 6k miles. It's been to the dealer once - for a free oil change.
I haven't missed my C6 for one second since I traded it in on the C7.

13 months and 8600 miles...so far so good! The only problem that I have had with mine is that the defroster grille on the dash got wavy vanes. Replaced under warranty and about a 5 minute fix.

I'm going to miss my mean exhaust note and my sound system (doubt I'll upgrade either very soon after purchase)... but I had a blast driving the C7 at Ron Fellows.

The 2014s will over the years become the least reliable of the C7 platform. There is potential for engine failures as well, With every following year every auto maker makes continuing improvements that you will never notice or see outwardly but they indeed have been made. I make it a habit to NEVER buy ANY automakers first run models.

Best Vett so far and as I expected the best by far...
One issue with factory overfill of engine oil. Needed a cleanup under the hood and I was good to go.
5,500 KM and going strong!
My 2006 was a great car, this one is mind-blowing!!

Advanced
2014 Base with 6 speed auto - couple of issues so far, both resolved by dealer.
1) belt tensioner bearing went out at 3500 miles, replaced and no issues since (now at 6500 miles)
2) windshield washer reservoir sprung a leak and had to be replaced at about 4500 miles.
No issue with operation, start/stop or otherwise. All in all, a pretty reliable ride.

And yeah, he has a history here of posting almost universally negative remarks about the C7. Dunno why he bought such a crappy, poor quality, unreliable car.
Consumer Reports ranks the 2014 C7 as one of the Top Ten best cars, ranked at No. 6. That's as good a consensus as you're likely to get.

No, he's not "probably right," he's guessing based on no data whatsoever.

Just like the C7 is a great car, but the 2014 probably won't be as reliable as 2015s+. I'm not sure we have enough miles yet to know for sure. Either way, you really shouldn't be so defensive

imo these cars are too new. Check back when they hit 80k, 100k +
Long wait
You probably know Vettes are finicky cars and all have their issues
Any chance of buying GMs 100k extended warranty?
