Cracked tires
Any one have a correct procedure to get warrantee on cracked tires on a z51 convert able that's been in a heated shop all winter. And still cracked the local dealer isn't saying anything other than I must have run over something. Need guidance .

Try Michelin and see what they say. Good luck - hope they do something for you.

Same problem here and my local dealer would have addressed it if pushed. They hinted that the wheels might get scratched if they swapped them out so I just left them on. They didn't crack more with use and I don't think they affect the handling of the car. I'm more upset with the black rims pitting at 7000 miles.

Cracked in a heated garage? Wow! Miy tires should have shattered this past winter. Coldest February since 1857 when they started keeping the records. And my car sat through it in the cold.

A year ago a semi decided to do a last minute right hand turn from the middle lane of a 3 lane street-forced me into the curb and missed tearing off the left front corner of my Jetta Sportswagen daily driver by inches. Boy was I hot. Two curbed wheels, tires didn't blow but were badly scuffed. Then about 1 month later both tires split on a hot day. Held air and I immediately drove to a tire store for new tires.
Even with run-flat tires, I wouldn't feel safe driving on cracked tires. I'd be making claims to Chevy and Michelin-as I wrote in an earlier thread, I can foresee a class action coming if customers are forced to pay for tires for this issue.
Heck, here in Dallas we had ice/snow and cold the last week of February and first week of March. Mine sat out and the tires were siting in covered snow about 6" deep for days. Didn't drive or move the car until temperatures were well over 60. If I have problems I won't go quietly. Tires should not crack in relatively normal winter temperatures. My Porshe wears Michelin pilot sport tires that are 10 years old & summer only. No cracks (and yes I'm buying new tires later this Spring to replace for age).
This would be a very difficult case for Chevy and Michelin to win no matter what they put in the owners manual. It may take awhile and they may contest liability, but if I had to pick a side, I like the consumers' side on this one.
