Default Door dings?

I'm sure many of you are like me and park my car as far as possible from other vehicles. Still I do have to occasionally park between 2 vehicles.

I remember reading that the C7 will not take a door ding? Is this true? No metal on the outside of the car? Thanks

Correct-no metal to ding-dent. But the paint can be chipped/damaged by a carelessly flung door.

I had my doors and fenders covered with Xpel Ultimate (along with the hood, front bumper cover, mirrors, rocker panels, etc.) for this very reason. There's obviously no reason to worry about dents but I hate paint chips.

The paint will chip if hit hard enough.

Always a chance you take, especially with all the people who just don't care about someone else's property.

Chips and marring are the problem. I usually park "back-40" to avoid trouble.

How hard of a hit does it take to chip? Is it pretty delicate?

So what material are these doors made of?

Plastic, like most of the rest of the body.

In my experience of owning a C5 for 9 years and my C6 for the past two, they don't chip very easily at all. I didn't have any door inflicted chips in my C5 (and I drove that everywhere and parked it in many tight spots) and I have none in my C6 either. So I would expect the same on a C7.
