At 6'4" I never use the thing, but the wife at 5'4" likes it because it helps keep the belt from rubbing on her neck. I like the OP's solution which allows the belt to be removed and replaced as needed for the RARE occasions that I sit in the passengers seat. But I would go with black tubing!

A simple solution (shrink tube) for a simple but a pita problem, at 5'7" using the guide the way to go.
Thanks!

Must be the angle, or something, as I've never had the seat belt fall/pull out of the guide...

Personally I just hate seatbelts, always have. There are plenty of stories out there of people would have died had they had a seatbelt on or lived because they didn't. I'm not saying it's a wiser choice, just saying it's my choice. I drive close to 100k miles a year and repo cars for a living, if it's not having a seatbelt on that takes me out then so be it.

I hope everyone stays safe out there.

Should be your choice. I wear them because it's the law. I have ridden and raced motorcycles. Jumped out of airplanes. Boxed and karate. Carried guns and hunted. Raced cars on and off the track. I never worried about what might happen. My choice. You are going to go when it's your time. Be careful and pay attention. I have been called stupid for most of things I do. Still should be my ( your ) choice. IMHO

I too also do not use seat belts & I never will. And yes, they have a few down sides.

Back to the holder discussion--I also went with the heat shrink option--thanks to whomever thought of this one!!! I read in the manual that the holder is for shorter drivers, but I think it's a little different for convertibles. On the coupe the belt emerges higher on the post. On the vert it emerges lower, and it's pretty annoying to have it fall out of the holder.

I fundamentally agree with you about being your choice to wear or not to wear a helmet or use a seatbelt. So many of our rights as individuals have been taken away by government rules and regulations. However, I do think that the insurance companies should also have the right to deny claims from those who did not wear a helmet while on a motorcycle or use a seatbelt while driving. Maybe by putting that in your insurance policy would help lower the premiums for everyone.

Great idea for the seat belt keeper.

Next, coming from the receiving end of accidents, if you choose not to wear one, at least become an organ donor.

i would like it better if the color matched your interior better. I'd find black to blend in more. You can always do the shrink tubing only on one side to get your intended use like in your pic

A little bit off topic but does anyone have a simple solution to the passenger seat belt rattling against the door/seat when when it's not being used? I have taken to moving the belt over the back rest and draping it on the front seat. The tensioner does a pretty good job of keeping it there. Anyone else have a more practical solution?

Just snap the seat belt into its socket across the seat just as if there was a passenger there.

I am absolutely an addict of seat belts. I had them installed on my '55 Chevy when I bought it in 1960. I don't feel secure without the belt being attached. I even have a problem finding the seat belt in movie theaters.

Think they should have the same right to deny claims for texting while driving! Someone pointed out that drinking while driving has a social stigma where texting does not! In SC it is a $25 fine.

So you prefer to be an unguided 200 lb missile in a collision and endanger everyone around you that could pass a Darwin test?

I tried to use them once but found it to be somewhat complicated and gave up. Not necessary and I don't carry any small children or small adults in my car.

You're nominated for a Darwin Award. And I do hope you are an organ donor, so you can potentially save someone else.

Am I the only one here (this thread that is) When my seat is in preferred position, there's no way the belt can be "threaded" through the guide; it appears to be in a different plane/ not in line. What am I missing here? (Be kind)
