Yet another page to add to Dual Velocity's saga!
If you've been around since October, 2013, you probably know why I named my Stingray "Dual Velocity." Besides the information that was broadcasted near and far in the early days, there are numerous stories that have not been shared. If you and I ever have a chance to sit down and chat, I might just tell you a few of those stories. But today's story is one that I will go ahead and tell here because, for me at least, this is just par for the course.
I dropped my 2014 Stingray off at my local dealership on Thursday for a warrantied replacement of the infotainment system. The original system had been replaced for the well known flicker problem within the first few months of ownership and had worked fine until recently when I suddenly noticed that when I would honk my horn, the infotainment screen would flicker. My service manager learned that there has actually been one other case of this problem reported in the entire country. Of course, mine would be one of two! But it's not a big deal, so I drop the car off with the dealership and know that they're going to take care of me.
Friday morning I awoke to a text message from the service manager. He was headed to the dealership to inspect my car after learning that someone moving my car that morning had parked it in front of a curb and had gotten it a little too close to the aforementioned curb. My WeaponX splitter gave itself sacrificially and saved the bumper cover from any damage. The photo below was what the service manager texted to me to show me the damage.
Well, I've never been apologized to in all my life as much as I was today and the service manager immediately offered to pay for a new splitter. To be honest, I wasn't even angry that it had happened. There are bigger problems in the world than a damaged splitter. But wouldn't it be MY luck to have this happen to my Stingray!
So, in the next couple of weeks, I will install Dual Velocity's fifth splitter...two of which were replaced as a result of damage. Come to think of it, that's the same number as the number of times that one of my fenders has been painted!

I have to say, you're a better man than me. I think I would have been pretty upset. I commend you on your good attitude!

Such equanimity! I applaud your attitude. All we have to do is read these pages for persons who blast off. Hope it's returned to its new state! Btw, that's a service manager that everyone can appreciate.

Thanks for setting a great example of patience, forgiveness and the understanding that there are much bigger and loftier concerns in life than one's car. We need more of that attitude in this world and on this forum.

I agree, great attitude and way to go to your service manager. Some would deny it was them and you would go around and around fighting the case. Glad it work out!
On a side note, I don't get all this texting stuff. You'd think he would have called you to tell you this versus texting it to you. I'm tying to get more hip, but to me, a phone call is still the best way to communicate.

Accidents happen, they are only human and they did take responsibility for the damage. Sounds like you have a stand up type of dealership there and hope they repair your car soon.
BTW, did they get the screen flicker issue fixed?

They replaced the infotainment system, but I won't pick the car up until Monday.
Thanks, everyone, for the kind words. I try to keep my blood pressure down, which provides me with two benefits...I enjoy life more and try to make sure there will be more life to enjoy!

Great attitude to have ............. I damaged my splitter the first time I backed out of the driveway . I was so mad at myself , for not knowing . I learned , I need to backout or drive in at a angle . We learn our true nature , by the things we suffer . I am over it now............( Smile )
