Car destroyed by flooding at transport facility
Anyone else loose their car in the flooding that occurred the week of April 6 at the transportation load-out facility? Placed my order with dealer for essentially base convert on Dec 31, 2014. Car finally rolled off the assembly line the March 23--way too long a wait. Was told on April 15 that car was destroyed by flooding week of April 6 as it sat on the car-transport carrier the day before it was to be delivered to the dealer--we're only 150 miles from the plant in Bowling Green. Chevy has told the dealer they will expedite my re-order, but there is dealer concern that the Z51package may not be available at this late date. Hopefully, a definitive answer will be coming this next week.

Wow...that's awful. I feel for ya, hope they can get you a new one ASAP. Maybe they'll throw in some goodies for the extra wait.
It's probably not much consolation, but at least it's better than them taking a hairdryer to your flooded car and pretending like nothing happened .

Oh, no! That's awful! Could they maybe locate the exact same car at a dealer somewhere and get it to you more quickly?

And you wanted the Z51 because you wanted to track the car? I think if they said that they will expedite your re-order then they would not have a problem with a Z51 package option for your car.

I hadn't heard of any flooding at the plant but there was north and east of Bowling Green. Note he said at the transportation facility. Even though he is only 150 from the plant that doesn't mean the truck didn't go from the plant to another facility near Louisville and that's where it was damaged.
He did say it was in BG so I could be wrong. Somehow I think had the flooding been at the plant and cars were damaged that would have made news.

Doc... We all feel for you... What a terrible event.... Not to lessen what happened....but it's only a inanimate object... No lives lost. It can be replaced and will...
The good news.....you're on GM's radar scope. Hopefully they'll treat you right and not only expedite your new C7, they'll "make it a better experience than you'd expect"... Maybe they'll offer you a Museum pick-up....at no cost. Now that would help a little with the frustration...

That really sucks - hope GM does step up and get your car built and to you ASAP.

Going through the whole ordeal of ordering the car, waiting for it to be build, then the anticipation of delivery, and then this. Yikes!! We all feel for you. Keep us posted on the outcome.

"In honor of jpee"
I know there was a lot of snow in BG. But, does anyone know for sure that there was a major flood either in the loading area or the plant? Usually there's more than 1 car at a loading zone.
