Fixed Scrapes in Console Leather Cover
Found some deep scratches in my console leather cover under the latch. It was obviously caused by my thumb nail over the 1 ˝ years I’ve had my C7 3LT as I pressed the latch to open. My wife blames my “inferior nail” grooming, and she’s probably right! The scratches were below the top layer of leather and were white. Used some tan shoe polish and they were mostly gone. Don’t have a pic of the original scratches but you can see some indications in the top photo taken after the repair. Decided it was just going to happen again despite how careful I was. Cut a small piece of 3M plastic protector and placed it over the patched area. Considering where they are located looks OK.
Anyone else find this as an issue?

I am still trying to figure out a way to fix some scratches on the plastic where the seat belt tends to hit just behind the door.

Depends on the color. The tan I used matched the Kalahari very well. I buffed with a microfiber cloth. If black for example, shoe polish, always woks great on my scuffed shoes!

Seems to be a normal occurrence on the console latch area. A buddy has his wife open the console when he drives and her finger nails have definitely left marks.
I suppose you could order the side trim piece through Chevy parts to replace it.
I rarely open mine (hell all I have in there is a micro fiber dust rag), but use the meaty side part of my thumb on the latch, so no marks (yet).
