This one always makes me laugh every time I back up:
" Here is a useless but amusing observation: The speedo works while in reverse"
The reason for my laughter is that in the mid-'60s while working at a small town Mopar dealer one of our better repeat customers came in with his new car and raised holy-h**l that his speedo didn't work in reverse.. well. After letting him try another couple new cars he found that none did... well, duh! It was only after he left and we were all chatting at coffee-break someone spoke up wondering exactly how fast he might have been going while he was testing his new car.
Part I bold'ed I did not know. Rest I did. Thanks! Keep this thread going!
Let me see if I can contribute...
If you keep your windows open and lock the car. If you try and reach into the car it will trigger the alarm. I found this out at a gas station the other day...

Does this also work when the top is off the coupe?
No. There's a micro switch in the top of the windshield that when the top is off, disables the motion alarm. The reason for this is that the motion sensor is very sensitive and even a leaf falling into the car will set it off.
If you are at a car show and decide to pass out fliers for your club's show, when you gently drop a flier inside a locked Corvette with the windows open, the alarm will go off. I know this first hand.
I have a fairly new battery in my C7 and got a little lazy about getting it out for a run since the weather is cooler. I went out and it wouldn't start. Jumped it after finding the location of the battery in the trunk. Took it out for a good long ride. Since I live in the South and don't necessarily put the Vette up for the winter, I've never had or thought about a trickle charger to keep the battery up. It looks like I should however. Any tips or tricks on how to do this and the best (Not most expensive) charger for this?

Buy a CTEK with a cigarette type plug. There is an outlet in the rear passenger side just for that purpose.

i built a plug to go in the hole, so it would work. If I have top off and park somewhere, I roll windows up, which makes it hard to reach in, if they do the alarm goes off. I have not had trouble with false alarms.
BTW, if you are just saying what you are saying, and what you are saying contradicts what somebody else is saying, I think it's natural to assume you were talking to me if you quote what I said. And you did contradict what I said.

I seem to have hurt your feelings. No contradiction at all. I quoted you for context. What you said was exactly the answer to why it was done like that. I was only offering what I have done, that works for me and might work for someone else.
