Default Oil Change Non Z51

I know the Z51 guys are changing oil at 500 miles, what about the Non Z51 guys. What mileage are you doing your first service?

I like to get the first change in around the 1000 mile mark and the second one about 1500 miles later on a new motor.

You get 4 free ones any time you want in the first 2 years, so every 6 months on average unless you put a lot of miles on it. If that's the case, and after the first 2 years, use the oil life monitor, not some arbitrary time or mileage.

I personally have done one at the 500 mile mark, on EVERY new car/engine I have ever had.....so I did mine myself at 500 miles......reset the counter and started driving. currently I'm at 45% and have right at 4800 miles on the clock, and will get it changed somewhere between 10 to 20%, just depends on my work schedule.

I changed mine at 1100 miles at a dealer I trusted. At my request they used M1 as specified by GM without any arguments. They even suggested changing every six months to get all four free services in within the two-year window.

I did mine at 500 myself. The engine parts need to get to know each other, there could be dirt and millings in the engine from the build so makes me feel better to get the first one done quick on a new engine. Not sure if really makes any difference but being a little **** about my car it is rewarding to me

I did the first oil change on my non Z51, at 1,600 miles. It was seven days old at that time.

That's pretty much my plan also. I'm at 1,600 miles and 3 months and haven't changed it yet.

I'll likely go to 50% oil life, which should hit about the 6-month mark, before I change it the first time.

My first at 2500 mi and at 65% life and just over 4 months. No detectible consumption at that time. Will do about every 6 months until I get the first 4 free in the two years and then based on oil life down to probably 30% after. My dealer will do free life time oil changes and I think their limits are one year or OL 30%. I will not drive my C7 more than 8000 miles each year.

Was gonna do it at 500 but decided 1000 mi is good enough. I may even run dino oil in it for another couple thousand miles to break it in some more before I put Synthetic in it. We'll see.

I'm planning on doing it at 500, but may do it at 750 when the time comes.

Every 6 months, which should translate to about 3000 miles at the rate I'm going. I'm 'assuming', because my car was built the week of Jan. 26, it's running on Mobil1.

I plan to do the first one at about 1,500 miles, when the break-in is complete. Then I'll do the next 3 freebies spread evenly over the rest of the 1st two years.

Change according to the Oil Life monitor or every 6 months, whichever comes first. Based on driving just over 600 miles/month and not in heavy traffic, the 6 months comes up long before the Oil Life monitor indicates its time for an oil change.

Aren't they all on Mobil1 from the factory?

Where did you get that valve? Do you have a part number or specs?

Thanks.
