Default Maybe some luck

Hi all,
After spending a couple of hours at another dealer trying to find a plain jane 1LT with my options the dealer told me about a trade they took in last week on a new GS. Its a 14 Premier Edition with the 3LT package. IT has 7000 miles and looks really nice. The new sticker was 76,700, they are selling it for under 50. I know this deal was not in my game plan but its something to think about. Is there anything about a 14 to worry about? Its a manual with the NPP.

Thanks so much,
Rick

Have them send you the GM Global Warranty Management build sheet for the car. All GM dealers can run this by VIN. It will tell you every option that is in the car, and you can verify for yourself about NPP and any other options.

^^^ Get a GMVIS, also.
GM dealers have 'em, just ask.
See track record under warranty, and while not all visits are bad anything more serious/repetitive there it'll show.

Yes get the service records, pull a Carfax and Autocheck.

Also ask about the bumber to bumper warranty and find out if there is anything left. On a 3LT you may want to consider an extended warranty to cover some of the electronics.

Honestly, if everything checks out I would not hesitate. Sounds like the car was a garage queen.

If it has the options you want, and is the color you want, then work the right price and then get them to certify it as a CPO vehicle. A '14 3LT stick car will be great if it meets your requirements!

I saw new 2017's going for $48k at the big national dealer. If you are looking at a 2014, why not look at the 'specials' on 2017's also under $50k?

Hi all,
My game plan was to buy new under $50 grand. The dealer searched on the computer to find one I wanted. He didn't. You know how they are, once you are in there they throw every possible option at you to get you to buy anything. When he mentioned the 14 Premier Edition he said something that stuck with me. He said that no matter at what point in the future the 14 Premier will always be worth more than a 17 plain jane. He might be right. I'm heading back to discuss further.

Rick, one thing to consider is the warranty. A '14 bumper to bumper is/or about to run out.

and...

Rick,
If you call chevy customer service and tell them what you are looking for they will help you find dealers with matching inventory. I actually tried it this year just to see, and they where very helpful. I even confirmed it with a search via gm family first and gm global connect. So don't feel you need to rely on the dealer.

I would buy a new one for $50K. Nobody is going to give you a penny more for the "Premiere Edition".....

Did you check-out this one:

http://www.jimcrivelli.com/VehicleDe...-PA/2896787243

2016, Torch Red, Z51, 1LT, M7, PDR/NAV, MRC, Clear-Roof, Chrome Wheels, this one has probably been sitting on the lot since July or August 2015 (it is an early 2016 production VIN).

Near Pittsburgh

Rick,

Don't get sucked into that trap..... maybe in 50 years, but not likely anytime reasonably soon.

If you like it for all the other reasons, and it seems like a good deal to you, then go for it and enjoy.
