Hennessey debuts HPE1000 C7 Corvette
The Hennessey HPE1000 package gives you a 2.9L supercharger, forged internals, and a new exhaust, which all add up to 847 horsepower and 720lb-ft of torque, at the wheels.

As impressive as the Hennessey products appear to be it does not take much effort to find sorted info on their track record as a business. This is an excerpt from a C&D article "The BBB reported 12 complaints filed against Hennessey in the past 36 months, of which seven were in the past year. Of the 12 complaints, only one was listed as resolved. To put this performance in context, I ran checks with the local BBBs of every participant in our Supercar Challenge. Just one other complaint turned up, against AutoThority, and it was described as "resolved."
It is an interesting read to say the least and while not an indictment on them as a company I certainly would not take a chance given what I have read, Here is the kink of the article for those interested

Impressive numbers from the car, but - the company has a questionable history on it's side.

When I had first heard of Hennessy, it was NOT good. His reputation was really bad in the Dodge Viper forums back in the day.

Personally, I would never do business with anyone that caused any grief to a fellow car enthusiast just as a matter of principle let alone being worried for my own automobile dealings.

Here's a recent thread started by LMR where they had to take care of a customer who originally went to Hennessey for their HPE650, which costs $16k, and in which case the customer came out with only 466rwhp! That's only ~50-60whp over stock! Furthermore, LMR stated the car actually LOST hp above 5200rpms over a stock C7! SIDE NOTE: LMR's intention with the post was not to advertise the problems that one of their competitors caused however merely to state how they helped to correct and improve the customers car!

I don't see the link for Hennessey on the sponsors at the right of the screen. Maybe they aren't here any more.
In any event, as a personal choice, I would not get any modifications done to my car through them.

I'd avoid like the plague. I have read too much over the years to trust them to do anything to my car. You may get it back in 6-12 months or you may not.
When dealing with this kind of money, the company needs to have a spotless business record for me to deal with them.
Seems like they make a few good prototypes, sell them as turnkey solutions and then either can't deliver because they bite off more than they can chew or deliberately deceive. Either way, I'll pass.

Melting Slicks
I'm amazed he's successful at all. In every thread on every message board where people are allowed to speak freely, the subject always turns to the guy's scammer past. Plus a 1000 hp C7 is just absurd when my 460 HP C7 has trouble with traction. Dunno, maybe the point is doing burnouts at 100+. Dead hook and buh-bye diff.

I wouldn't trust Hennessey with my lawnmower.
Hell, I wouldn't trust them with your lawnmower.

I agree that their reputation is poor at best which is why I am surprised when GM shows up at Barrett Jackson with John in tow promoting his product thru a charity car he built for them. GM's PR dept must be a bunch of millenials who know nothing about Hennesey history.

Not really sure of their past. I always give folks the benefit of the doubt.
However just two weeks ago I inquired about a super charger for my 2016 base Stingray and $12k was an okay price but they wanted to keep it for 4 weeks when I thought I would just drive down to Houston on a Saturday and pick it up he following Saturday.
It doesn't take 4 weeks to install a supercharger, next...

Well, let's see...
The original post about the 1,000HP Hennessey C7 is almost 2 YEARS OLD. Then we have Hennessey's richly deserved BAD reputation....
And now, we have a Hennessey Z06, which is NOT the same car as the original "chime in with your thoughts" (from April 2015) used for this Z06.
The CF editors may want to research what they use for click bait on the front page....just sayin'
