Alcantara feels great when you grip it, but I am pretty sure you should not use chemicals like 303 aerospace protectant on it. When it starts getting matted down use a brush on it and just clean it with a damp rag first.

Nice wheel OP! You might consider replacing the airbag cover with a leather covered one.

Cheers.
Might help my belly, but other than that, I really do not see any real advantage. Guess I will keep my mods to the engine bay.

OK, since everyone is posting their wheels, this is my Carbon Fiber flat bottom steering wheel from Apsis USA.

Not my taste, but enjoy it.

Nice wheel but APSIS is wayyyy overpriced. Bet they charged close to 1500-2000. I speak from exp with them. Sick c7!

Which exact model is it? Thanx.
It is the D Premium wheel and when you call and talk to Sergio about your order-tell him you want the flatter top version. He will guide you through the order, the colors in each section, top dead center stripe or not etc.

This...

I'm a young guy, have heavily modded many of cars, and LOVE flat bottom and Alcantra steering wheels.

There is a reason most aftermarket racing wheels like Momo, OMP, Keys Racing, Personal, etc make their lines with Alcantra.

The only downside is Alcantra gets dirty and messed up easier. Grease and wetness from hands messes them up alittle over time.

"Older" guys tend not to like either of these things. They want large circular leather wrapped wheels as is the norm.

As a big wearer of suede loafers I use a metal brush available at shoe repair shops to keep them looking sharp. When you see the brush it takes some courage to use but works great. If alcantara wheel ever starts to look or feel worn I will try brushing a small portion of back side of the steering wheel to test if brushing works as well as on shoes.

I like the shape of this one a lot. Who's the vendor, please?

I don't think it is age-related, I am 68 and much prefer the flat bottom, top wheels.

That's an APSIS wheel. I also have the console and door pieces. Pricey, it matches the factory CF dash perfectly.

It's very nice, although as an APSIS I know it's definitely out of my price range.

Guys, flat bottom steering wheels have NOTHING to do with age.

You must know that ANY Carbon Fiber piece will not be cheap. From what I've seen from Apsis USA and other Vendor on our site that sell and carry Carbon Fiber elements, all have good quality and look outstanding.

Carbon Fiber isn't for everyone-it's not for the faint of heart....

While I am not sold on the look of the new wheel, the only opinion that matters is yours. Enjoy the new mods and your car.

Im sure you get the mod discount, even their non CF parts are wayyy over priced. I mean cmon $420 for side vent covers is ridiculous... They have nice products just overpriced imho..

I find it a bit offensive that Chevrolet puts the flat bottom steering wheel in the Z06 but not the non Z06 C7. Personally, I do not like the flat "top" steering wheels..but really like the flat "bottom" steering wheels.

My Mercedes CLS550 has the flat bottom wheel and I really like it. For Benz to put it on a 4 door sedan and my Corvette not to have one, or even the option (as far as I know) indicates to me that Chevrolet, while improving, still has a long way to go.
