C7-- Room for junk in the trunk?

C7-- Room for junk in the trunk?
I know the Stingray has more room for storage than the convertible, but how much room is really back there? Would not a bunch of gear block the already limited view? Does this seem to be a problem or is it something you just live with and get around other ways?
Thus, the dilemma with two seat sports cars. That's why I am considering a sedan like the CTS-V or maybe the Chevrolet SS. Or, I suppose many here have that second car/truck they use when needed.

The coupe has room for 2 sets of golf clubs and luggage for two for a long week road trip. A few things need to be separated and stuffed into the gaps between other things but hey....like you said its a two seat sports car.

There is quite a bit of storage in the coupe. My son and I used to go camping in my C5--cooler, tent, dining fly, lantern, sleeping bags, two clothes duffles, food, etc. The C6 was just a hair smaller, and the C7 is smaller still. Yet, there is a lot of room back there, enough for luggage for two, or two golf bags, etc.
If you pack the cargo in one layer, you can see over the stuff easily.

I don't know how much other people can fit in their Verts, but I can shove a whole heck of a lot in my trunk.
p.s. the Vert IS a Stingray.

I believe it's @ 15 CF while the C6 was 22CF. I can only get my golf clubs in diagonally. In the C6 I could get the bag in across the rear. I didn't think the C5 had more room than the C6 but I haven't checked it out.
Miss the volume of the C6.

I've been to all 41 Long Beach Grand Prix, all three days of most of them. We always took my wife's SUV because there was lots of space for a cooler, chairs, etc. Just before last year's GP, about two months after I got my 14 C7 vert, I realized that I could fit two canvas folding chairs under the folding top storage compartment, leaving room in the trunk for a big cooler, with lots of space on either side for clothes, food, etc. We ended up taking the Vette to all three days of last year's GP and this year's GP. It was a real topic of conversation. I got showered with compliments, questions, etc.

Some folks apparently never looked at the load limits for the C7

I haven't gone to look at my door sticker, but searching I found a GVWR of 3989 lbs and a curb weight of 3298 lbs, which yields a capacity of 691 lbs for passengers and cargo. With two 200-lb people, that still leaves 291 lbs for cargo.
On edit: I checked my sticker and the GVWR is 3886. That's a capacity of 588 lbs. over the published curb weight of 3298.

One of the reasons I sold my CTS-V coupe and went back into Corvettes was the lack of luggage space... sure, you can use the back seat.... but..... love my C7.... carry two cases of wine, a take down O/U shotgun a case of shells, some luggage, etc..... lots of room.... Corvettes, daily drivers for the past 26 years, other than the six months or so I had the CTS-V...

Yes & No. They changed the way the cargo space is computed. Chevy says the cargo space is about the same between the C6 & C7. A Camry has a 16 CF trunk; that's a pretty big trunk. You can fit a lot in the 15 CF C7 Coupe without blocking the window. For me (& one wife), an easy two weeks worth of stuff. Two wives; probably not enough room.
The only drawback is probably only 10 CF with the top off. But then, you're equal to the 10 CF in the C7 vert trunk. At least the coupe gives you the choice; the vert, you're stuck with 10 CF. Found this pic online of the official Chevy C7 luggage set. MSRP is about $995.

The trunk is much larger in my Stingray than it was in my 2012 CTS-V (I realize the 2016 CTS-V will have a larger trunk).
But this picture is what makes the Corvette practical. :-) And no, with this much luggage, there was no blockage in visibility out the rear window.

I do have other vehicles, a car and a truck but I have loaded the back of my Vette pretty full on occasion. Not my choice of vehicles for hauling groceries, etc. Better for just hauling azz!

However it holds a lot. Here is a pic I took at Lauga Seca in August 2013 when about 15 prototypes were being displayed. This fellow was packing up for the next venue.

Do you have a coup or vert? I have the coup and my clubs fit fine across behind the wheel wells. I do have to take the driver and fairway woods out of the second bag between the wheel wells and put those with the bag behind the wheel wells.

Have a coupe and I can't get my golf bag to fit behind the wheels. Perhaps with the longer clubs removed but only then. Never a problem with the old Z. Still not a big deal for me, just saying. Guess some bags are bigger than others.
