Default Last weekend $89.99 Mod....The C7 is complete

Today, I made the last modification to my C7. Total mods cost $1184, and todays $89.99 install now makes my Corvette C7 complete.

The C7 is just the way I want it. All mods are considered cosmetic and nothing mechanical was done to the C7.

I installed a Stainless Steel NPP exhaust filler plate. I bought the filler plate via eBay for $89.99 (free shipping) and it is the stainless steel type. There are also black ones available for $129.99

It is a 15 minute install at best. Now, I just have to apply some silicone to hold the bottom portion of the plate to the top for a closer fit on the seems.

I used my race ramps front section to lift the C7 to make it easier to install the plate.

I've got the black powdercoated one from American Car Craft. I'm installing it tomorrow while I have the car on ramps to install my splitter and skirts.

The black filler plate will certainly highlight the exhaust tips, and there will be contrast with the shiney tips against the black.

Shoot us a few photos of the installation.

I went the lower priced cheaper route ($89.99), but may end up painting the filler plate black. I would like to see your's first.

where did you get the race ramps? What happens if you get to the end of the ramp? Do they tilt?

I got the black powder coated panel from ACC and after fighting with it for over an hour I gave up. Every car's exhaust is slight different in terms of tip spacing so I appreciate that some modification is required, but that wasn't my problem. The problem is the top part is too long to fit. It gets wedged into the little tunnel. I think the powder coating added just enough paint to make it no longer fit. I'm going to grind that off, cut off the last 1/4" of the fingers, then try again. I just haven't had time.

I emailed ACC and they were no immediate help but suggested I call back and talk to one of their installers next attempt which I thought was cool of them.

Mine was also manufactured by ACC. It was too long to fit inside the opening so I used a dremel tool to round out the corners for a better fit.

[QUOTE=C7Jake;1589789566]exhaust filler plate = HIDEOUS ricer junk

Thanks for the reply C7Jake.....but who really cares what you think. For those who have installed these filler plates it's because we like them.

You don't have to like them whether you think they may be hideous or not. There are so many diifferent mods that C7 owners are making, it comes down to individual taste and selection of items installed. Just as in your own C7. You did your personal mods because you like them, and most likely you do not care what other people think about your personal modifications.

The filler plate I installed does not have the LED lights, so in my case, nothing lights up.

The top plate which is the largest is secured by the 2 OEM GM bolts that are already in exhaust area on the top. They are visiable in my photos above. Just remove the 2 bolts, insert the plates and install the new bolts provided with the plates. Then a chrome bolt/nut cover is included.

The bottom plate which is small and lightweight is secured by a heavy duty adhesive tape on the bottom edge.

I will take my install just a step further and it is suggested to apply a small dab of silicone where the top and bottom plates touch each other to eliminate any possible vibration of the 2 plates.

Otherwise in the examples posted above some slight trimming of the top panel may be needed so the plate fits around the exhaust pipes.

And that hideous "Stingray" script across the rear is not RICE? People who live in glass houses ought not throw stones....

Not my cup of tea but to each his own..

Edit: not worth addressing some people's attitude....
