G1E Long Beach Red Timeline
How many of you are waiting for a new 2016 Long Beach Red and what is your dealer telling you. It is my understanding that this color wont be ready til August or Sept.
Here is my reasoning; saw one article on new 2016 features and it listed the new red as a late summer release. Also, the first constraints show it with not more than 4 weeks constraint.
With the first builds starting on 22 June a 4 week hold puts it out to 22 July easily. If the first orders don't get picked up til the 3rd week in July then the first cars probably wont be built until mid August is my guess.
What do you folks think?
Anxious in Seattle.

Waiting as well
My order moved to 2000 on 5/18 and has been sitting ever since. I am getting weekly updates from Chevrolet but they are saying the same thing, order excepted by GM. I read the same article that said late summer or August so who knows. I am thinking late August early September if I am lucky. Once I get a build date I will post. I am waiting on a 2016 Explorer Platinum also, at least I have a build date of 7/6.

I found out today that my car has now moved to status code 3000, accepted by production control. So I am now beyond constraints and I will get the car as I ordered it. No TPW yet.

Now I'm bummed
Well, I went to bed right after reading this post and was a bit bummed to have wait yet another extra month. Not much I can do about it. Does anyone have a link to the article mentioned?

Has anyone actually seen the Long Beach Red in person? All I hear is that "it's a little darker than Crystal Red" or "it's more like Burgundy"...and those comments seem to come from paint chip observations...not an actual car.

It's beautiful. Do you remember Monterey Red from the early C6s? Long Beach Red looks a lot like it. It's kind of a deep burgundy in subdued light and the metal flake explodes in direct sunlight. To my eyes, it looks fantastic under all lighting conditions.

I'm sold, oh wait, it's already on order. I have a Monty red C6 now and hope this new red is as good or better. The crystal red had too much strawberry in it for my taste so I jumped when I heard of the new color and was sold when I saw the first paint chips. Thanks for the great run down.

Thanks for the description. Agree with the comment about the "strawberry" look of the Crystal Red....it's a nice color and I like it, but I feel the only interiors that are appropriate are light gray or black.
It seems like the Long Beach Red will go better with the Kalahari interior...not to offend anyone...just my taste. I'm ordering a 2016 convertible as soon as I make up my mind. My '96 is all Black and I don't want to go that route again. Any thoughts or comments (positive or negative) are welcome.

I ordered mine on 5/28/2015. Finally got to event code 3000 with no constraints on 7/29/2015. Just received today 8/5 a target production date of 9/7/2015. It will have the 3LT package, interior jet black, performance exhaust, 5 spoke chrome wheels, carbon fiber body colored roof panel.
