Just a suggestion. I did this..............

Consider spraying the Llyods mats with 303 Aerospace Fabric Guard before installing to repel and imped water & dirt.

Once sprayed with 303 Aerospace Fabric Guard they are so much easier to keep clean and so easy to vaccum any debris that might get embedded into the fabric.

Ultimats are not offered in a dark grey like the Luxe mats. Anyone have a picture of the grey Ultimats front mats installed in their car with grey interior?

Makes sense, thanks for the tip. Would also work after cleaning existing mats thoroughly.

I find that the Luxe mats in my dark Gray Z06 seem to hide the dirt better.

Be aware that the Lloyds mats in black are a shade darker than the "jet" black carpet in the C7.

Value and money be damned, I'm going for the thickest one and putting on some kind of heel pad to protect them.

I didn't know 303 made a fabric guard, I'll order some this week. Thanks for the tip !

The luxe mats are nicer and have a better warranty, but do not come in the same variety of colors. I wanted a red that matched my adrenaline red interior and so I went with ultimat. I'm happy with the results.

Is it advisable or required to remove the stock OEM cargo pad before installing the Lloyd's mat? I would think keeping the stock pad in place might offer more sound insulation, but the front D-rings might not fit through the slits. OTOH, that would make battery access even more difficult--and having only the Lloyd's mat that isn't tucked under the wheel wells, etc. would make access very easy.

When installing or placing the new mat in the hatch area, I simply placed the mat over the OEM GM rear carpet that comes in the C7.

I encountered no problems.

I wonder if Ebony would be a better choice? My C6 was Ebony and it was slightly off-black, although it may have a slight brown tint to it, IIRC. The color swatch on the sites look lighter than jet black and not brownish.

Thanks. Looking at mine there appears to be plenty of height on the D-rings to attach the sun shade through the slits in the cargo mat.

The thickness of th Luxe mat isn't an issue?

According to Lloyd's, the ebony has a green tint.

That might clash a bit with an AR interior, although it might offer a nice seasonal flare around Christmas.

I don't think it would matter, as you could push the clip on the shade down into slit in the mat if necessary.
