I just talked to dealer and customer care and they confirmed my build TPW for 6/22 but nothing else. They said VIN not available until build/event code 3800 but I've seen others on here post they have theirs for builds next week and following so not exactly sure what the real answer is or how to get it. I guess one more week of patience won't kill me, but...
For Chevy Customer Service, that answer is the real answer. I have explained why numerous times.
Some dealers have been able to get their own customer VIN when the build reaches status 3300 which I believe is when the VIN is created. I do not know why some can and some can not.
I have a 2016 Z06 on order. My TPW is 6/29. I received the following information from GM this morning. This is for the Corvette assembly plant. I hope it is useful to you.
"2016 production actually began this week with the first car coming off the line yesterday. It’s not uncommon for an order to be built prior to a projected production week. The manufacturing process is dynamic and if production is running ahead of schedule, orders tend to move up by a day or two. TPW projections are made weeks in advance and are simply an estimate. Your car is estimated to be built on 6/25-6/26.
GM has given no indication or timetable for release of the 2016 model. With it being a new model year, they tend to hold onto the cars for an extended QC period longer than the average 2 weeks. Recently, it has been closer to a month for the 2014 and 2015 models. We receive a list of available VINs and base our scheduling on that."
For those of you that have your VIN's, your car is being or has been built.

I'm doing buyer's tour. This is from Shane:
"Hello Kevin,
Here’s where things stand as of 6/22/15.
Your tour is now scheduled to begin at 10:00 am (CST) on Monday, June 29, 2015 with the car estimated to come off-line (finished) on Tuesday, June 30, 2015.
Mr. Pete Asposito is still scheduled to be your guide. He will meet you at the Plant at 10:00 am (CST) on 6/29."
I haven't got a VIN # from him yet, but will contact MacMulkin to see if they have a VIN# for me yet.
So, leaving SEA for STL on 6/27 and driving to BG on 6/28. I'm taking my 9yr. but he doesn't know anything about it so will be a total surprise for him. He will be sad to see my 2004 Z06 leave, but will be psyched to see his Dad's new C7 get built!
