2016-3LT Kalahari interior-a step backward?

This sucks, and is going backward. Would be fine for an option, or for a 2LT treatment, but just compromises the full upgrade 3LT interior IMHO.
I had planned on getting Kalahari 3LT in my '16 I'm getting this year, but now will have to completely rethink my selection.

I love the 2015 3lt Kalahari interior. There is plenty of black on this car for contrast. The combo interior is just right. Without the full dash I would have ordered 2lt.

I chose the 2LT because I did not want the full Kalahari dash. I like the look of the Kalahari dash but it seemed to reflect a glare into the windshield more than the 2LT with the Black dash. I think the new 2016 change is a good one but that is just my opinion. OP if you like it that is what matters.

Not exactly, I was precluded from ordering the full leather 3LT unless I accepted the full Kalahari Dash which I did not want but there was no Kalahari 3 LT alternative with a dark dash so I ordered the 2LT.

3LTKalahari is now inline with the 3LTGrey and 3LTAdrenaline Red interior packages.
I'm not arguing one way or the other. Just clarifying for those that are unsure what was meant above.

I have a Black 2015 with Kalahari interior that I specifically went with the 3LT because the color extended over the whole dash. It's a stunning look that has brought compliments from everyone that has seen my vette. I think the 2016 3LT with Kalahari won't be as nice, but just my opinion and preference for the full dash color.

Another theory is that GM was aware there was a mix of reactions to the 2014/15 3LT, they saw an opportunity to reduce cost, so they decided to eliminate some Kalahari and add black.

It's not as dramatic a change, which for me is a good thing. Light colors (or glossiness) on the dash aren't something I think are desirable in a car. Purely from a safety standpoint, not an esthetic one.

Personally, having a 3LT kalahari interior, I'd say the full kalahari dash and door panels give the interior a look that is almost European, like the full leather interior in our 2006 Porsche. I never understood why the other 3LT interiors were done differently than the kalahari interior. Now I have a one- year color and two-year interior.

GM makes decisions that they believe will increase Gross Profits, which is selling more "pricier" 3LTs and/or reducing costs or combination of cost vs 3LT sales that generates higher profits in 2016 than in 2015.
