Ron Fellows demonstration of Launch Control...
At Ron Fellows they gave a live demonstration of launch control for the automatic and manual cars and discussed the difference between standard suspension and magnetic ride suspension.
I edited the raw video to outline the key points as the audio is very hard to hear.
Overall, highly recommend Ron Fellows driving programs!
Enjoy ~

Thanks for sharing, also you gotta love the no lift shift feature.

I was wondering how that was done in the manual trans cars without simply burning up the tires or losing control like the now-famous brand-new Z06 crashing video.
Still doubt I'll be doing this activity anytime soon, but good info nonetheless.
Can someone explain what he means by "side-step" with the clutch?

That is correct. I did the Fellows school in May, and my impressions of the Launch Mode demos (agreed upon by several other attendees) was that the Z06 was much more impressive than the Z51, not just because it has much more horsepower, but because it programs in a much higher RPM for the start - 3500 vs 2000 for the Z51. That gave it a smooth and rapid acceleration, whereas the Z51 almost lugged for a moment or two before really getting going. I've tried launch mode in my car (2015 Z51) and found the same results.

Automatic and manual have different RPM levels for launch control. I can't remember what they said but, I though manual was at 3500.
The Challenger Scat Pack has launch control but, you can set the RPM level which nice to adjust for tires and track conditions. I don't think you can adjust the RPM on the Stingray - I asked at Ron Fellows and they said "no".

Sorry, I forgot to mention that mine is an A8 model, and they only rev up to 2000 for the start, even if you use Manual paddle shift mode, which I did. At the Fellows school they also used a Z51 A8 in Drive, or full auto mode for the launch demo. Either way, in Drive or Manual, the Z51 A8 launch mode start is unimpressive for the first few moments.

Think I will rent a C7 in the future and give launch control a try. Seems pretty hard on the car, especially if you screw up and hit the rev limiter.
