You actually have to have a code from USAA to get the USAA discount. You can either call USAA (which I did) or submit an online request. The certificate was delivered to me as a document through my USAA account with the subject "CL Rate Discount"

This is the first paragraph from the letter I was sent:

"Thank you for your interest in USAA’s manufacturer discount program. When you’re ready to buy your next vehicle that is eligible for the discount program, please provide this number to your dealer: XXXXXXXXX. This is your USAA number and will also serve as your authorization number when you buy the vehicle."

As long as the Corvette is on the list of eligible vehicles you get the discount.
As of this date the 2016 Corvette is NOT on the GM approved list. It may be in the future but not now, today 7/15/2015. If the dealer is applying a discount, it may be on a 2015 but not the 2016.

If the dealer is applying the discount on a 2016 it may be on their own accord.

That's the thing, the USAA discount isn't through GM so it doesn't cost dealers a thing. The dealer gives you the $750 off the price of the car and is reimbursed by USAA. It's good for different brands of vehicles such as Mercedes, Mini, Dodge, Fiat as well as GM vehicles. When you go to USAA's discount page, it says make your best deal and get an additional $750 off. It also says you can combine it with the military discount. However, there are only four 2016 vehicles on the GM military discount page, a Buick and three Cadillac's. Even if you don't get the GM military discount, you can still get the USAA discount.

Different subject, we're talking USAA discount here, not Credit Union Discount.

It does sound like you'll squeeze in under the old CU program if you had an authorization issued before today.

USAA incentives at present don't include the 2016 Corvettes. Time will tell if they are added.
Just wanted everyone to know that the USAA incentive probably won't stack with the new CU incentive because both are private offers.

I bought my 16 yesterday. The dealer said it wasn't eligible for the USAA discount.

Poor web mastering on USAA's site. They don't reference model years, just brands and models.

USAA isn't always the best deal. Buy a "well optioned" Corvette and try to explain it to them that it is really worth that much when you are trying to get a loan. The first level customer service person said "We only cover base MSRP plus 25%, so basically they'll cover a 3LT package and automatic. It usually has to get approved by a supervisor.

What can be done about this?

Simply avoid passing around information that you have not confirmed to be true.

I have done this with what I write.

I do not need to be associated with a dealer, I confirmed the information I passed here with a dealer first.

Whatever ken wants to pass that is associated with his dealership is his business. I talked to macmulkin and passed info relating to them.

Out
That's scuttlebutt for us military types, good or bad.

Default USAA UPDATE my experience...

I picked up my 2016 Laguna Blue vert last night!!
My dealer was great. He honored the supplier pricing through the educators discount program (My wife is a teacher) and he honored the USAA $750 discount on top. I did not used the USAA buying service as the educator discount was better, but I had no problems with either.

I was told by USAA on two different calls that the discount would be good, and then that the 2016's were not yet eligible as the website was not updated with the 206 models.

I guess it is up to the dealer, and mine was great!!!!!

I'm confused, I was told by Macmulkin the USAA code was not accepted. I was told that yesterday 7/17/2015. My build is probably 3 weeks out so hopefully this is fixed by then.

I called USAA and was told they were waiting on GM to approve the new rebate. Who knows what the real truth is?

GM has not approved it yet for the 16's so it is currently not being accepted by macmulkin.

Will the USAA discount be retroactive for those of us who already bought their 2016 Corvettes?

This will likely be a question only your selling dealer can answer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that GM approves it soon as I take delivery in a week.

I am a USAA member and don't see the offer as in 2015 available currently, which was a reduction of an additional $750.00.

According to the Chevrolet website there are NO current incentives being offered by GM direct for the 2016 Corvette.
