I think your thoughts are pretty in-line with enthusiastic car guys.
Car-Guy/Gal = Its my Hobby and i do what i want with my "Hobby-Money".
Some Grown-ups spend crazy money on Booze and Eating out (and Cabs to get home at the end of the night) and others Buy Z06 Corvettes and Drop the hammer at the end of the night.

Not a financial question? What am I missing here. May YOU should re-read your post and its title. You are getting exactly what you asked for. If you do not want the advice and opinions then do not ask the question.

Just kidding. But seriously I always (in other forums) make the title interesting so I can get as many posts on the topic as possible
And I also did say it was partially a financial question, just not me looking for financial advice.
Thanks for the note either way (no sarcasm or insult intended, as most post with these sort of undertones)

So really, you're just a troll. You go on forums just to stir the pot because you're bored. You have no car, nor Corvette Stingray, right?
Thanks. It took all these pages to ferret out that info. Now, everyone can ignore you and your threads and posts.

A lot of guys can afford that 1 ton diesel dually, but think a C7 is expensive. Have you priced a dually lately? Being retired, I sold one car and traded in a C5 to get my 2015 1lt and kicked in some cash. So minimal payments are left. If buying outright $100K + would be within reason.

no kids or CC debt then 100k. Either of those things than more.
WOW at some of the 25% of monthly income opinions. My personal rule is 12% of monthly take home pay. It used to be 10% but I've felt spendy lately Haha.

Well, if we're getting specific, then: 50 grand if you're living with your folks, but you better let your mom drive it whenever she wants!

Life's too short to drive a crappy car. I have one friend that brags about how his 2004 Ford Explorer is still going strong and he's keeping it forever. Another friend that is retired and showing off his new Kia. We all have our priorities. Some folks want a big house with 5 bedrooms. Some folks want a nice boat. I want nice vehicles since cars have always been a passion of mine. I have a nice but small house, good job, a restored classic car, several nice motorcycles, a Ford focus Daily driver, a Jeep Wrangler and my C7 convertible. I'd rather have a garage full of toys than a house full of bedrooms. But to each their own. I do make over $100K/Year.

We can probably put an end to this thread . . .
It appears that alot of Forum Members read my Original post and took it as
"Please Give me Financial Advice!!!", not all . . . . But there are always a few in some groups.
Thanks for all the positive comments and those meant in Jest, Loved them all though!!!.
This was one of my first threads here, for those with negative or un-helpful comments I hope you are the MINORITY Forum Members that i run across during my venture into the corvette community.

The hardest part of figuring out what you can afford is first figuring out how you are going to meet your retirement needs. If you don't have a plan for retirement savings you may have a serious problem down the road.
