GM Chevrolet said they were migrating some of the C7 styling to its other lines. Sure it makes the stylist that created the C7 look strut. Making the C7 a styling cue for the line is good for Corvette's future.

That's not all that has been taken. Look at a side view and then look at the wheels. The design cues from the Corvette have proven to be popular and it looks as though Chevy is trying to cash in on it. Making little brother resemble big brother.
I don't care much, I like cars and if it looks good all the better. And if it's fast and it has some adgility, then all the better.

At the end of the day im glad they are buffing up the camaro with a winning combo of parts from the vette. It means even more aftermarket parts for all of us.

We knew this would happen eventually. GM is tailoring their design to fit Gen-X'rs and Millennials rather than Boomers.
The C6 was the Boomer's car, which is what I drive and prefer, even though I'm not a Boomer.
I think the stink is in the fact that Camaro's could now be mistaken with Corvettes on the road. The Vette will lose some exclusivity with the like designs although I believe from a performance standard this has already been the case with the ZL1 & Z/28.

As far a performance goes, 2 totally different type of cars.
I know you youngsters won't remember, but back in the sixties, each particular car brands had similar styling cues for that brand.
So, nothing New Here...:
