I just turned 12,000 miles on my base '14 and the Discount Tire guy said I was good for at least 20-24K miles on the original set. Lot better than my 2012 GS; had to replace its tires after 9,000 miles.

Welcome aboard, I recall many of your post from the C6 forum regarding the C7. Surprised you made the move but you will love your C7.

I'm pretty sure the other guy is wrong!! You don't have Z51 or mag ride (like me) so our cars do NOT change suspension with the dial. The dial for us just changes the display options on the dash, and NPP/AFM modes on the manual.

There is actually more to it than that, though it does depend on the specifics of what options you have.

7 speed with adrenaline red interior..3lt. 10,900 miles.Pick it next Tuesday. I must say I'm about as surprised as anybody ever. When I saw the c7 reveal,i was so underwhelmed i went and bought a brand new 2013 GS....... ,I finally saw one in person after a couple of months went by.Then I saw another...then a friend of mine bought one...then my cousin bought one...well,that was all I COULD STAND..I finally gave in to the c7 ... I saw a z06 the other day at a show and damn, that car is sweet but way out of my budget...so,instead of going to Carlisle with a 2013 GS,I'll be there with a 14 COUPE!! Cant wait to shift thru those 7 gears and feel those 460 ponies come to life...couldn't find a z51 that worked for me but i'm sure this one will be adequate...what exactly is made of carbon fiber on the car??
Enjoy the ride...

Silver looks best in anything except direct sunlight. Mornings, evenings, overcast days, parking garage at work .. it looks great. But direct sunlight seems to wash it out. you car in that indoor garage pics looks great.

No, unless it's a Z51 with mag ride. All it does in the base car is give better throttle response and open the exhaust if it has the NPP option, it also adjusts the steering for a more responsive feel and action.

One mod that I really feel is important is to add the Z51 suspension kit, this is a larger Anti sway bar for the front and a sway bar for the rear, the "base" car just has a small sway bar in the front and nothing in the rear. This one option will really help to balance the car in the corners and is a fairly cheap mod.
I would also suggest that you buy from Clutrag Performance, a forum vendor and great company to work with. Their site is ClutragPerformance.com and it is easy to navigate. For the suspension kit just go to the site and search for the kit.
Gene and Patrick are good people and are very quick about filling orders, and good at answering questions.
This is the first Corvette that I have had without Z51 or mag ride since !998 and I feel that it is a great handling car. Although I won't track it, can't get my walker strapped down in the back, LOL, I would have no qualms about running a few laps with it. But it is very good on the hill country roads around here.

The "base" car handles well. As good as my '09 Z51, and the steering is more responsive. And, this transfers to more confidence while driving.

the dry-sump system is part of the Z51 option for the C7 Singray coupes/'verts...
(it is also standard for the Z06)
b-t-w, congrats on getting your C7 !
