Default Waiting on a new C7 - I am 51, wife says I am a 5 year old!

After just selling our mint C6 z51 vert, I am going crazy with no Vette in the garage and the wait until it arrives. It just feels weird not having it in the garage. 2016 C7 coupe, A/W, z51, basic z51 silver wheels (to be replaced by brushed silver XO Verona wheels) carbon flash mirrors, spoiler, badges, and stinger hood. Red calipers, 2 tone a/r and black 2 LT. int. Parts have been arriving and being painted, etc. she says "we don't even have the car yet!" Shopping at Sams club yesterday, and for 13 bucks I see a 2014 A/W z51 with black wheels. So what the hell, I am a 5 year old, right? Thinking of the new C7 last night, I proceed to take the 1:18 model car and give it the silver wheels, c/f mirrors, spoiler and stinger hood, and the transparent top to mimic our new C7. She wakes up this morning and sees the little car - and says "what are you 5 years old?" I proudly say................ YUP!

I am the only one that acts this way?

I'm waiting, too, AW Z51 coupe painted roof, M7,1LT, black wheels. Salesman basically said don't call me I'll call you. Order might get picked up Friday. I'm gonna check out Sam's. Only four mototcycles.

Doing the same thing on a smaller scale-cags-nets-rim decals-caliper decals-black lugs etc. Z51 due in next week.
Tell your wife
"growing old is mandatory- growing up is optional!
Al (I just turned 75 (8-4-15))
P.S. I forgot the new garage race floor, black and yellow to match the Vette, and the $9000 concrete driveway. Can't have the Vette drive on the 46 year old cracked driveway--right!

Way to go ! ! I am waiting for a Vette I ordered in July, was 73 when I ordered it and will probably turn 74 by the time it is finally delivered (November?). Like I tell my family and my wife, I will never grow up- I will only grow old. And now I will soon have a fantastic new "toy" to play with-- and a supportive wife to share it with. Life is GOOD ! ! !

I feel so inadequate. All I have so far is a set of Gorilla black lug nuts.

Mod envy, we all suffer at one point or another.

I literally just ordered an elite 2 catch can and clean air system.

OP -

If you don't mind sharing, where did you get the Carbon Flash-painted splitter ??

Can we assume it is an OEM Z06 stage 1 splitter ??

Yes 92 bucks at GM parts direct, then had a body shop spray it in WA-501Q carbon flash metallic and clear coated along with the other parts - in hind sight I should of had a second one dome for 92 bucks as a back up - the paint cost would not have changed much - if any.

I have an AW Z51. I bought that same model and modified it to match my car too. My wife also says I'm a 5 year old when it comes to my car. No worries!

Nothing wrong with constructively passing the time till the car arrives. Looks like you have some nice mods waiting for its arrival too.
