Default Paint on rear badge wearing off

I got my car back in May '15 and I noticed the red paint was wearing off on my rear badge after I washed it this weekend. It's very hard to see, but you should see some whitening in the red section towards the left. It's much more visible in person. It's a very minor annoyance, but I would think this would not happen to a brand new car. Has anyone had this issue before?

Sure you didn't just get some wax in there by accident? That's what happened to me. It looked like the red was fading but turned out to only be some wax squished in there.

Ya I probably won't actually replace it at the moment. The wear is very miniscule. I was just thinking if there was some touch up paint I could use, but I also feel like it could make it worse. If it gets significantly worse then I'll consider replacing it.

I try not to get too close to it when I wax, but it is possible.

The constraint on painted tops has nothing to do with paint; it's supplier-based. The supplier can only produce a finite number of them.

As mentioned- covered under warranty, which is a simple fix. The emblem is only held on with 3M tape (or equivalent).

I just picked up a Corvette Racing Yellow C7 and based on my car, the orange peel problem appears to be resolved. The paint quality is excellent - not mirror finish but not far from it; much better than other C7s I've seen.

My salesman said I probably need a dent and paint protection warranty which I didn't get, to fix it. He's on vacation so he suggested that I call the dealer and ask about it.

I just gave them a call and they told me to bring it in and they'll check it out. Let's hope they can actually help me with this.
