Cops in general appreciate nice cars. As do I, and most all my cop friends.

I'm curious as to what you specifically said to the cop when asking for the break?
It obviously worked.

My car has a 11-99 foundation license plate, so that might help ;-)

Yeah, they do. When I had my black C5, they seemed to like it under a red strobe light.

I do know one thing, the politicians LOVE the revenue enhancement!

Never hesitate to politely ask for a verbal warning.....if you can make a brief case for having a really good driving record and will take a warning to heart......I usually responded positively to a respectful (non-whining) request....

and yes, I liked the C7 enough to buy one.....

Yep, fess up. I know what you did, it may have been a mistake, and if your up front in a respectful manner you may just get a break. Contrary to popular belief, I never got a cut of the revenue.

I get a lot of waves. I also get followed alot. The area I love in is notorious for being a speed trap. I think they're just waiting for me to go 1 mph over the posted limit so the can tag me. I've had friends written up for going 1 mph over!!
I tend to go at or below the posted limit.

I said "Any chance you can give me a break? We're cutting our vacation short and going home today because of the fire." He said "We'll see" and got back in his car to run my record (no tickets in two years.).

What does your profession have to do with liking any particular type of car?

Apparently something, based on the posts above: macho cops and American muscle sports car.

Apparently not enough to let me out of a ticket - I received an "unsafe lane change" ticket in December 2014. I am always super respectful and cooperative with authority. He must have owned a Mustang

33 years on the job, Corvette owner for 35 years. Loved Corvettes since 1963 when I saw my first Stingray.

Yes we love them. Most of us either have one or want one.
