Tire Pressure on 2016 C7's?
It appears that GM has changed the tire pressure recommendation on at least some C7s from 30 psi to 35psi! I think the change affects those with the base 18/19" wheels, but that's not completely clear. There's been some discussion of it in this thread:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...omments-2.html
but that thread title doesn't call out this subject.
So, if you have a 2016 c7, can you tell us:
1. Base, Z51, Z06?
2. If base, 18/19 or 19/20 inch rims?
3. MRSC or not?
4. Tire pressure on the sticker on the door jam?

but that thread title doesn't call out this subject.

What is it that leads you to believe that GM may have changed the tire pressure recommendations on at least some 2016 Corvettes?

Look at the referenced thread in the first post. A couple of owners have indicated the GM tire pressure sticker says 35 PSI. There is also a picture of a sticker with 35 PSI on it.

When I picked up my 2016 2lt vert Saturday (TPW 08/17) I noticed when reviewing display info that the tires were inflated to 35 psi. Thought the dealer didn't know what they were doing and was going to reduce the tp to 30psi as was my C6.
After seeing this thread I checked and the sticker, on the door jam, reads: 35 psi. The wheels are 18" and 19".
Thanks to the CF, what a great place to learn about a great car.
Need to change the avatar, now it's shark grey vert with Kalahari interior.

Will be very interested in the eventual answer to this question.

And also, why the change? Was the stated psi for 2014-2015 models incorrect?

Burning Brakes
Lite car, big tires, more Pressure? Sounds like the center of the tire is being sacrificed! Several other makers have that spec also.

Based on what's written in the 2016 manual:
On rare occasions, vehicles with P245/40ZR18 and P285/35ZR19 size tires may experience a rough ride at the tire pressure recommended on the Tire and Loading Information label. To improve ride performance, decrease the tire pressure to no less than 205 kPa (30 psi) when the tire is cold. This may reduce fuel economy and cause the low tire pressure warning to occur more often.
As Len44 asks, the real question is "Why?".
I inflated my 2015 base 18/19" tires to 35 yesterday just to compare. For street use, I prefer the lower pressure. 35 lets you feel every rut, hole, ridge and seam in the road, and even if it does improve handling near the limit how often can you take advantage of that? It probably improves gas mileage a bit, but I would worry it's sacrificing tire life for mpg.
I submitted this as an Ask Tadge question, but guess it won't get enough votes to go forward.

The manual doesn't actually specify pressure that I can find. It just refers to the sticker on the door jamb.
Based on what's written in the 2016 manual:
and the limited data posted in this thread, it seems the higher pressure recommendatation is only for the base 18/19" wheel combo: Hopefully some more 2016 owners will report in so we can confirm that.

As underinflated tires run with pressure that is below the specified setting, they wear faster on the shoulder due to the additional load being placed on the shoulders of the tires.
overinflation will cause a tire to wear faster in the middle of the tire. This is due to the "ballooning" effect that occurs when a tire has too much air....If a vehicle's tires are overinflated by 6 psi, they could be damaged more easily when running over potholes or debris in the road

I read that they JUST missed the targeted 30mpg on the highway by 1/100th of mpg. I read that 2016 owners manual and door stickers would say 35psi to make that target. I also read that the owners manual will say 30psi for "comfort"
This is a trick porsche has been doing for years.
