Default Paint chips on 2016 C7 Z51

Finally got a chance to go through the car and realized two chips on the rear fender of the car. Anyone else have this problem too?

Default Paint chips on 2016 C7 Z51

Wow I'd be upset about that. Almost looks like the paint did not stick in that area. Maybe take back to dealer and see what they can do?

Car has 205 miles and it does look like paint isn't sticking. Called dealer and told them, they said to bring it by and if we have to take to the body shop we will

That's a panel fit problem. Too damn tight. I have checked over my fir lines and all appear uniform. I had one small paint bubble, that was about it.

I had chips around my headlight from a poor fit/installation. After a little bit of a runaround the dealer fixed it to my satisfaction under warranty. The car had a few hundreds miles on it.

That's horrible. I could see an LPO spoiler install issue cause that. But leaving factory like that is nuts. What is going on in Bowling Green? Good luck with repairs.

I was apprehensive about getting one of the early C7's (mine is#307). Mine has been trouble free; only been back to the dealer for my free oil changes. After reading this and other threads about various problems it does seem that a number of production/QC issues have been surfacing that did not affect the earlier builds. Whether it is the case of trying to produce them too fast to meet demand or what I don't know, but paint, panel fit, interior trim, etc. have been commented on more now than early on. They all seem to be legitimate concerns-not just nit-picking as we owners always are accused of doing. They really need to get things right and soon.

Nasty! You need to take it back to your dealer and have them fix both the paint and panel alignment problems. A good body shop should be able to take care of these unacceptable issues and fix you up like new - - the way the car should have been delivered from BG.

Had a similar issue with my 2014 but mine was at the headlight

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-bubbling.html

They touched it up, couldn't tell! GM ended up buying the car back after it spent some 45 days in the shop for various issues.

Default znooze

the forum has been inundated with C7 problems, but many could be rectified if only the cars would be given a REAL thorough quality control inspection BEFORE ever being released.

So very true. All of this crap is so characteristic of the GM we all know and loathe. Their cars are priced right and run well for a long time, but GM has always chosen to be subpar when it comes to fit and finish refinement. Bean counters rule, I guess.
