Paint Job on Hatch
I wanted to know if anyone had the same paint issue on hatch. Not sure if I will take back to dealer or not. A little tired of complaining when a $70k purchase is not right. Not understanding why GM cant get t right or just my bad luck.

Nothing wrong with complaining when you have an issue like this... It almost looks like a bad tape job on a repair. Definitely poor quality control.

You need to complain!! There's no excuse for that, and I'm a little shocked that quite of few others have reported similar crap on their cars.
GM will do nothing unless owners get mad. That's why this forum is so useful -- GM customer service people see this stuff here.

Mine looks just like that, and I watched the line worker go through 3 hatches before he picked the best one to go on my car.
The flat black underside finish is poorly done and has some sort of stains on it as well.
I know I will get flamed for this, but the Corvette has a proud 63 year history of really poor paint and finish quality, these cars are the best they have ever done by a fair margin.
I realize that there is a certain expectation of detail that goes with a six figure sticker price, but the level of outrage from the respondents seems to be out of proportion to the seriousness of a seam flaw in a hidden hatch jamb.
I think they should have covered the inside of the hatch with Alcantera for the 3LZ cars at least, but I am not the line manager.
Touch it up or have a bodyshop refinish the inside hatch, you will do a better job than the dealer.

Here's mine. I'm guessing the robot hiccuped. I've never bothered having it addressed as you can't see it when closed and I figure it's probably more trouble than it's worth. Bet you had the same issue and a blind person touched it up.
