Is it time for GM to stop offering chrome wheels on Corvettes??
I know I am going to get some heat for this but every time I see a C7 with Chrome Wheels it just seems out of place. I mean does any other Sports Car come with this option?
I know GM makes a good profit on Chrome Wheels but I am sure they used to make good profit on fake Convertible tops on Cadillac's as well at the cost of hurting their long term reputation in which they are still trying to fix. GM is trying to attract younger buyers to the Corvette and they are succeeding for the most part but perhaps losing the Chrome Wheel option is another step in that direction. And if someone really wants them I am sure they will go to the aftermarket for them.

This is my first Corvette with chrome whels since 2004 when i had my 01 c5.In 05 I bought an 05 with comp gray wheels (395 at th time) and went to black in 08 and never looked back. The only reason I have chrome now is because i bought the car used and that's what was on there. It does fit nicely with the silver and it's a nice break from the dark side for a while...

It's definitely not my cup of tea. But I love that someone who wants chrome can order it. That's one of the great things about the C7, you can get it exactly to your specifications.

I still think chrome looks great on the corvette. If GM won't offer it, aftermarket will. I do think they will continue.
For me, hardcore performance models look great with black wheels. I sometimes assume auto makers go this way because of brake dust.
I may biased, since I have chrome gumbys. I still think the C7 looks good with chrome or black.

If there's a demand, and it's obvious there is, why should they quit offering them?

I mean there was demand for fake convertible tops on Cadillac's as well. They can offer Gold Chains as well to put around the rear view mirrors and there would be a small amount of people that will opt for that.....they could make round lights an option and some people will opt for that too....they could make pop up lights and option too..........Manufacturers that produce cars like the Corvette should be forward thinking and cutting edge, not hanging on to the past to appease a small minority of their buyers.

Chrome wheels have been popular for decades. They're not going away no matter how much you hate them.
I don't like black wheels but if there's a demand I don't care if GM offers them.

I love the chrome wheels. Always have on the vette! This conversation is like comparing which ice cream flavor is best. Get what YOU want and don't worry about what others like. I like the Black wheels on certain colors and certain cars and on others they look like empty voids. I also like the machined wheels but chrome is my favorite.

The Chrome wheels on my 2015 TR Stingray look awesome to me. I am not a fan of black wheels at all.
Also a fan of the chrome deep rims on my 2014 Porsche Cayman and machined faced HyperSilver on my Jaguar XKR. I get compliments on all 3 vehicles. I even had chrome wheels custom made by Kodiak Wheels on my F1000 race car.
GM will not stop selling the chrome wheels nor remove them as an option. They have no reason to do so.
Wheel color whether chrome, silver or black is strictly a personal issue as well as wheel style.
Every owner of premium branded sports car has many choices to choose from, that is one reason there are so many sizes, styles and finishes of aftermarket wheels. This is a huge industry that has annual revenues in the billions of $$$.
