Do you guys run your seat belt through the loops at the top of the seat? When I took museum delivery, the belts were not routed through the loops. I am a little hesitant to do so as it would appear to put excessive strain on the seat loops, eventually leading to breakage.

I did the heat shrink mod as well. I don't consider myself a "small adult" but find the loops help keep the belts in place. Is there any harm in using them even if you are not "small"?

<br /><br />Probably not, but the belt could cross too low across you.
I installed shrink tubing because the belt would not stay in the guide. Then, I decided I didn't want it on the driver's side and removed it. Now the seat belt stays in the guide even without the shrink tape. If I pull it out, it finds it's way back in before I get out of the car.
They were always slipping out of the guide and made it difficult to position once I exited the car. The metal latch would end up sitting in a spot where I was worried it would get pinched between the door and the seat frame.
Since I stopped using them the whole seatbelt/metal latch rests behind the seat out of the way when I exit the vehicle. Much more convenient.
I think the right answer is try it, and see if you prefer them going through the loops or outside the loops. Whatever works for you is your answer, regardless of what works best for other people. I'm fairly short, I use the loops, and find it works best for me.

I always put the passenger side belt into the guide when nobody is in the car primarily to keep the buckle from rattling against the side of the seat. But my passengers (esp my 6'3" son) always remove it for comfort.
I try to use the guides but the belt always falls out and haven't tried the HST trick yet. I'm 6'2" but I like the guides because it's kinda of a pain in the *** to reach around and grab the seat belt when they're behind the seat. On my car at least, the metal latch of the seat belt also trashes the nearby black plastic sail panel. It's somewhat beat up already after 4100 mi.

Used it for a week when I got my C7 in October 2013 and wondered why it kept coming out! Someone on the Forum said read the manual, it's for short folks! I did and removed it! Fits fine and I am not that tall.
In addition a young lady who was of a height that it was needed, posted when the belt stayed in the belt holder and the door was closed the tang tab was hitting her door panel (or perhaps it was the leather on the seat) but it had already worn a hole and she was asking how to have it fixed!
