Default Chrome Wheel Scratch

Hi, Rookie Corvette owner. 2016 2LT Z51 Laguna Blue Convertible. Optional chrome wheels.

The other day while cleaning my Corvette after a day long road trip, I noticed an approximate 1 inch mark on one of the spokes on the right rear chrome wheel. Using my finger nail I determined it was a shallow scratch. It is noticeable when the sun shines just right on the wheel.

I searched the Forum for suggestions to remove the scratch and found them somewhat confusing. Can't polish out scratches because chrome is very hard; clear coat on the wheels, etc.

I was wondering if I could fill in the shallow scratch with some clear coat? I would appreciate any suggestions on how to remove this scratch.

Thanks. Please drive safe.

take it to a professional - any dealer has a guy that can work on it, see the used car manager....messing around with clear yourself will make it worse...

Lucky Guy

I am having a very difficult time posting pictures on the Forum. I believe my picture files are too large.

If you go to a thread posted by Mike Furman two Sundays ago you will see a picture of my Corvette that I e-mailed him and he up loaded.

I am David D from Hagerstown in the Mike Furman post. My Corvette is pictured next to the helicopter I fly. I took delivery from Mike on 21 July. His weekly Sunday post for 26 July ? also contains pictures of my Corvette.

If you send me your e-mail address I will directly send you more pictures of my Corvette.

Please drive safe.
