Is That a Corvette or a Porsche 918 Spyder?
This funny mix up with a Porsche 918 Spyder definitely puts the C7 Corvette in good company.

Saw one of them on the road a few weeks ago. Base price with no options is about $850K. With options $1M plus. The one I saw was driven by a youngish woman and she was pulling into Wendy's. Rich folks have to eat too...
I heard only 300 or so are being imported to the US so seeing one is even rarer than seeing a LRG C7.

I'm not sure someone who's that ignorant of car culture's comments should really bear any weight on how you look at your car...
I mean she could have just as easily mistaken a prius for a 918 spider since she clearly has no idea what she's talking about. Would you say that puts a prius in the same company of the $1M 918?

While I dislike most Porchse because they all look exactly the same as the next one, or one from 20 year ago aside from a few details. It's very hard to not be in love with the 918. I feel like you can't call yourself a real car guy if you hate such an incredible car just because of the badge on the bumper.

I bet the owner didn't think it was humorous to have his car mistaken for a corvette. But then again, he probably didn't give a hoot what she thought it was. He certainly didn't bother to correct her. Nice car...

No one who is objective could deny that the 918 is a fantastic performer. One could easily question if it is worth the money but if you're in the income bracket that allows such purchases, it probably doesn't matter much.
To those with that much disposable income/assets, enjoy the ride! Don

But I think most Corvette drivers would appreciate and like a Porsche even if we don't choose to or are unable to buy one.

I think we benefit the other way round, I have had a few people ask about my Ferrari (which is actually a C7 coupe)!
And you've got to admit, the ferrari F12 / C7 have a lot of design in common. Whereas anyone that sees a Porsche from the front or back would never mistake it for Corvette.

I would have to disagree. Personally, its not that I don't like Porshe's. Its just that when I add up all the factors, the Corvette is a much better choice for me. If I were wealthy enough where cost was not an object, I'd probably have one of each . But when cost is factored in, what I could get for a C7 Z51 price with all the features I wan't would be a lower end Cayman that would not really match the C7 in either performance or luxury features I happen to like. Its all trade offs, and what your priorities are and the Corvette works for me.

I actually have a 911 Turbo, I was being sarcastic based on the comments from this forum.
